Just getting an opinion across the board,of who people think we will go for or are possibly eyeing up as a potential first round pick, heard a few murmurs about Tebow...they hold any weight?
Also should we get involved if Philly are trading out vick?

Tebow is not a QB to build a franchise on, slow release and bad footwork, but is a very solid runner!
Being very selfish would love to see Bradford taken (would prob need to trade up so probably a no-go) and have him matched up with fellow Sooner Peterson!

The hype on Bradford, well, is all up in the air at the minute. He was all set last year to come out and go #1 QB in the draft, but he wanted to stay and try and win a National Championship for the Sooners. First game back he takes a blindside hit, lands on his Shoulder and misses a few games. He came back too early and unfortunately , got hurt, then decided to not play the rest of the year and have the operation (Payton manning had the same injury so its not like cannot come back from it). He did the year before win the heisman and set a NCAA points scoring record.
If he gets through the pro days fine he should be a top 10 pick, hence why Im being selfish to trade up. On the pro side he has an extremely accurate arm, good height and i firmly believe he will be a great QB if he has a solid O line and not forced into too soon. Downside, as with mnay college qbs is that he took alot of snaps from shotgun.
Without trading up, i have seen hundres of mock drafts with no clear leader, but mainly being a DT or CB!

i feel we need some defence agains the pass more than anything else, our QB situation can be held off for another season if favre sticks around. Of course if favre does indeed stay it would be a good time to get a young QB to train under favre for a season, its a bit of a complicated issue really, having done well this season we're gonna have a hard time getting hold of a hot prospect.
mabye we'll get lucky and get yet another great player that gets passed over by the other teams like we have done in the past with the likes of perterson, moss and harvin.

I would like to see some strengthening of the secondary. So many analysts are talking about how the league is now dominated by passing offenses and this is an area we are sometimes obviously weak in. Are there any good prospects likely to be available at the end of the first round?

have we thrown in the towel with Jackson even under the guidance and a year learning off of favre?

The problem with Jackson in my opinion is that important players in our team are ready for success now, if we have to wait for Jackson to further develop into a starting QB the moment may have passed and we'll have to start building again. That being said I don't see how drafting a new QB will alter this. Add this to the fact that the current incumbent is prone to bouts of retirement with the likelyhood of a real one pretty high and the post-2010 prospects don't look too good.
I think what we really need is a game-manager type quarterback, accurate at short to medium throws with much less of an ego than Favre. Maybe Jackson will develop into one of these.

jackson is inconsistant, he's had games where he looks great but he has a habit of choking under pressure. If he's picked up any good tips on how to play better under favre id be very happy for him to trot out next season and prove to me and the world we were fools for doubting him.
I think he's very lucky that we are in such a pickle at QB position really as i think he may have been sent packing on another team. I like that he can gallop away for a 1st down if need be and he has a rocket arm somtimes but he has problems moving the chains and as we see with favre our recievers can pull the ball in if its thrown well enough, even when its not an ideal grab to make.
I think hes a better QB than sage for sure.

As much as Qb is the popular position to talk about, without trading up into the top 10 i don't see a late 1st round qb with great potential, colt mccoy is probably the best we'd get and i'm not sold on him.
I'd much prefer us to go after a safety or the idaho guard.
As for safeties Eric berry will be too high for us to go after, he might be a top 5 pick. I think Earl Thomas might be a great pickup if we could trade up and get him around pick 20. Otherwise i would not be too suprised to see Taylor Mays drop down to us with the 32nd pick.
As for the Guard i was on about, Mike Iupati. Hadn't heard of him till i watched the bowl game between idaho and bowling green. He is a monster. His run blocking skills are phenominal and can you imagine what holes he could open up at RG with his 330lb 6'5 frame next to phil loadholt and his 6'8 340 lb body.
Since next year we might be without Favre, we need to at least make sure that we have a run game to go back to help take pressure off whoever is at qb. If Favre stays then we already have our 3 qbs on our roster, Jackson RFA, Sage & Favre. We no doubt will try and trade one of Jackson/Sage and i'd love for us to try and pick up Max Hall in round 4, i think that guys got huge potential

I'd like to see the OL bolstered and like Jarmani if Iupati drops down to #30 we should snap him up, he'd be a big improvement on Herrera for me.
Also in the 3rd or 4th round I would be thrilled if Dan Lefevour was still available, I can't believe he's been so overlooked by everybody. From what I have seen LeFavre will be a star.
