Gravity (2013)

There was a big splasheroo when this film came out. That turns out to have been just the usual hype. The film is a pretty daft effort with a lot of high-tech FX. And it even steals an idea from the Hancock's Half Hour episode about the Radio Ham. It's one of those where you wait for something good to happen and find yourself thinking 'Like that could happen' a lot.

Daniel Blake - Funny in parts, moving and incredibly sad. 9/10

Manchester by the sea. - Really slow and just not worth the effort. Case Afleck plays his character nicely but it's not enough to save it.

Point Break (the remake)

A shame that some of the greatest stunt work I've seen was wasted on this unneccesary, poorly acted, dull movie. Credit the stuntman for the Wingsuit scene though, that was crazy that they really did that.

Split. Wow! Just brilliant!.

How did James McEvoy not get nominated for an Oscar? Best acting I have seen in a long time.
