Apparently it'll save nearly $8million against the cap.
He ended up being a solid player for us, just too often injured. When he was in the line was definitely noticeably better.

They are obviously happy with Tunsil going forward though.

I know good LT's are not always easy to find but I find it interesting that the only player the Dolphins think they might get even a hint of some trade value from is Albert.
Let's be honest they won't be getting anything more than a low pick or another failed/crocked player in return though.

Shame to lose Albert.... but his time with the Dolphins was always going to be limited as soon as they drafted Tunsil - particularly when you factor in his salary and inability to stay healthy. Will be good if they can get something for him in a trade though.

Very solid player for the Dolphins, and for me the o-line as a whole always seemed to play better when he was in the lineup. When he was missing the line seemed to struggle more than even when Pouncey was missing. Shame to see him go, but it is a logical move for the Dolphins in fairness.

Mildly surprised at Mitchell being cut, but Jordan Phillips really improved last year. Phillips just needs to improve his consistency somewhat.

.....and then transfer part of that money to add TJ Lang or Kevin Zeitler. We can have another season of woe at Guard.

I'm really hoping there's a plan for the Guard position. We desperately need to get some consistency over the next few years.

Wake has been extended 2 years. The guy is amazing, hopefully he can stay at the same level he played at last year.

If you have 10 minutes to spare, a condensed review of the Dolphins 2016 season

Good news and totally deserved. I thought his comeback from injury last year was amazing all things considered. He's been loyal to the Dolphins and helped the team by taking a paycut last year, so nice to see him get rewarded this year.

Looks like a Brandon Albert for Jags TE Julius Thomas swap.
Thomas was a bust in Jacksonville but had his best seasons as a Bronco under a certain A Gase

We've been down this road with Cameron - pick up oft injured TE with one good season behind him. Thomas may have been a victim of Bortles's regression, but his issue is he rarely sees the field.
