It says a lot when someone like Joe Thomas tweets:

'If you don't like football, it doesn't matter how talented you are, your star will burn out quick'.

he looked like a guy with the tools to succeed but you have to want it and put the work in.

now we dont know what truly happened but its hard to imagine he wasnt given support and chances.

although the Browns are a team that kill careers and hope

Packers release James Starks. No shock there, what they do with Lacy will hold more interest.

Yeah, Starks was solid for a long time, at his best was a good complimentary back but was never that great as a lead. Still, his emergence in 2010 was key and wish him well.

Yup Lacy is interesting. A couple of months ago I'd have said move on, but now I'd be very happy to keep him under the proviso he's part of a committee type approach with Montgomery.

As expected, Sam Shields is now released as well. One game in 2016, got a concussion and apparently today still has concussion signs. He's saying he wants to come back but I can't see it, even if he wanted to surely no team doctor would clear him.

Shame, as on his day he was a really good and under rated corner, often would be able to limit true opposition WR1s to a good extent.

Was obvious as the season wore on but corner is our glaring weakness come draft.

Andrew Brandt wrote some great points on his twitter feed today that the concussion protocol and the protection where put in place or enhanced to help protect players but now could count against the player as teams are not going to risk big contract in free agency on players with a concussion history.

the Jags Julius Thomas had $3m of his $7m 2017 base salary guaranteed as of yesterday so looks like he will be back.

Carson Palmer's 2017 salary is also fully guaranteed now, think he has the highest cap number in the league this year so Arizona may need to extend him for some cap space.

Well that didn't take long - Aldon Smith in trouble again, being investigated for a 'domestic incident.' Surely he's out of chances now.

So seattle with its 3 violations of OTA rules since 2012 will only get a stern telling off for mis-interpreting the injury report over Shermans knee.

I see the redskins have seen trump and gone, we ain't the most dysfunctional administration in this neighbourhood, as they try to force out their GM because he doesn't want to pay cousins but Gruden and Bruce Allen do.

Oh and they're doing it via Chris Cooley bringing up his alcoholic demons of the past

Classy work Danny S, classy.
