I'm not a fantasy fan usually. I bought this book in Manchester Airport to pass our 10 hour delay. It's like high hundreds of pages long so was big considering I only bought it to pass the time. Thought it was going to be fantasy rubbish, badly written book just for fantasy nerds.

Actually it was genuinely the best book I've ever read and had it not been so long and wrecked I probably would have read it twice

Highly recommend this book. It is a story BTW not a fake history book or the like.

As a fantasy fan I actually thought this was a very poor book. Predictable, derivitive & basically a wasted opportunity for what was an interesting premise.

If you want good fantasy check out anything by Robin Hobb

This is what I'm currently reading

Just finished Plato's "Republic".

Now just starting to read "In Love with a Mad Dog", the story of Johnny Adair from his "Lover of seven years", Jackie Robinson.
