Default BBC secures new NFL rights deal

The BBC and NFL have agreed a new two-year rights deal to include live coverage of all three International Series game at Wembley as well Super Bowl 50.

The new deal also includes a weekly highlights show on BBC Two and online, ‘The Road to the Super Bowl’, which will run from the final Wembley game at the start of November until the climax of the season in February.

Shame the highlights show isn't running from week 1 but at least we have something, including 3 live games and the Super Bowl

BBC Two have an England vs New Zealand test match in rugby league on November 1st, kick off at 5pm.

That is presumably the only reason why Detroit at Kansas City will be on the red button, as they will likely overlap.

Great news. Hopefully they don't stick the highlights show on at 11.30pm on a weekday so no one watches it then is dumped due to low ratings.

Anybody know who will be hosting the BBC coverage and who the analysts will be?

Hoping for for Nat Coombs or Vernon Kay to host and Mike Carlson and Osi Umenyiora (reported to be working for the NFL in London following his retirement)

How is this going to effect black out games on Game Pass?

good news on the coverage but a shame the highlights dont come in until late on.

but i suppose if you watch the free highlights on the NFL Now app then it would probably be of a similar length to that programme.

oh for the days we had a proper highlight show; oh even for last year...

So no highlight show until November...over to you Sky, the football is in your court.... the BBC highlights will be on a Tuesday evening I would guess at a time before youngsters go to bed (?)

A good deal for the London games and Super Bowl though. Cant beat the BBC.

Now we need an official NFLUK release on Gamepass 2015...its only like 3 months late compared to last year...

Anyway I have moved on, found other ways and means to adapt to the reduced exposure on UK tv.

It wont affect gamepass at all. Sky only enforce blackouts as they are the bully's of the tv world
