ERFA= Exclusive Rights Free Agent - Teams ony need to ffer them a minimum terms one year contract and they are under contract to the team.

RFA= Restricted Free Agent - Teams can offer these players contracts, but the team the player is on can match the offer or let him go and get direct compensation from the other team.

UFA= Unrestristed Free Agent - Simply means when the player is out of contract, he is free to leave and talk to other teams.

N.B. A very brief and basic outline.
