Im glad Banks made the final rosta, he got speed so theres something to work with. Hes a project that could return dividends with the right Coaching & encouragement. A kick returner with speed hes got to be better than ARE!

Id like to see what Banks can do when given the ball in space, Im sure Donavan McNabb would love a WR who has potential to make big plays and gain yac. Maybe it will take time for Banks to integrate into the WR corps though.

We will see.

Disappointed so many Draft picks didn't make the cut, especially Austin. I thought he was in a real chance.

However, If you ain't good enough, you ain't good enough, draft pick or not.

Yay! We're a real football team again! :D

So far so good for Shanahan and Allen, my only worry is we don't really
have a no'1 reciever, i would have traded for Vincent Jackson.

No major surprises in that final 53. The 3 7th rounders all wound up on our practice squad so no loss there. A little surprised that Austin lost out to Banks, no way I trust him returning punts, he makes Adrian Peterson look like old 'safe-hands'.

I would not make a move for VJ, if he was released or came for a 5th rounder then fair enough but he is after a monster deal and he is over rated IMO. Easy to look good in that offence. I would much rather move for TJH now released by the Seahawks - at 32 he is no spring chicken but he has produced year in year out and has to be better than Galloway!

I agree on the 7th rounders being on the practice squad is a gfood thing. The Coaching staff can have a good look at them, evaluate and shuffle them around to see what theyve got.

If Banks disappoints then Austin is there waiting in the wings as a replacement.

I dont know what VJ is trying to do, hes no leverage and just seems to be doing harm to his NFL career. Hes not going to get the deal he wants from the Chargers, especially now theyve just traded for Crayton. His price is too high & we dont need another Cry Baby at this franchise, oh and hes banned at the beginning of the season too

TJH? I just dont know, is he on the slide or is it that his face just didnt fit before his release? It would be good to get a proven WR in to compliment what weve got but we cant have everything.

We're taking baby steps, but in the right direction guys.

TJH jst signed by the Ravens so we look set for Sunday. I'd have taken him at vet minimum but maybe he preferred the Ravens.

I'm not overly disappointed by not getting TJH. He may well have proved an upgrade, he may not.

I'm waiting for Gman84's annual roster analysis, hurry up! In the meantime, I have written a blog piece on the return of NFL to channel 4 coinciding with what I hope will be a return of Redskins football (shameless plug!)

Shame that Houshmanzadeh couldn't be landed, he's a player I like and our receiving corps could definitely take a couple of last-minute acquisitions. You never know how much you'll get out of a 32-year old 10th year veteran, but TJH is solid and can, if used right, still be dangerous in this league. Main thing is I definitely want us to stay as far away from Vincent Jackson as possible, he's exactly the sort of thing we don't need at the moment IMO.

I too was delighted to see Brandon Banks make the final roster - I have a soft spot for small football players and watching Banks just makes me smile. I actually think he can be turned into a good player; you can work on and improve his handling, but you simply can't coach that kind of raw speed that he has, and we've not had anybody with his kind of pace for a fair while.

Would definitely hope to see Austin get a chance to move up from the practice squad; I thought he was pretty much the brightest spot of the highlights from the Cardinals game. His failure to make the squad was, for me, the biggest surprise; though I would also be interested to know what we managed to get from the Colts for Justin Tryon, as I thought he showed some good flashes in pre-season too. Perhaps he's just in the wrong position to suit the Skins needs.

More rumours today that Fat Al is going to be traded to the Titans so there could be another spot open on the 53, assuming we trade for a draft pick. Time to shop his butt and move on.

I'd have taken TJH over Joey Galloway or Roydell Williams, given the choice

As for Fat Albert, I just don't see how he fits into a 3-4 without the system being designed around him and I don't see Shanahan and Jim Haslett bending over backwards to accomodate him. If the Titans wans him back then bye bye Albert. Hopefully Snyder will watch those dollar bills shuffling back to Tennessee and learn a lesson or two

Larry Johnson cut --> Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/21/AR2010092105461.html?)

Chad Sinpson signed to the roster --> NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com/players/chadsimpson/profile?id=SIM482496)

I guess they already had doubts about him, and the 10 ten yard loss against Houston just made up their mind.

Surprised Torain wasn't signed from the practice squad, after Mike Shanahan comparing him to Terrell Davis.

Yes Satan_Polaroid I agree about Torain Shanny may think he still needs a bit more work yet to be a starter?

Chad Sinpson could just be here for a short while, then cut after the Colts Game, hes a former Colt & he could just be here for us to help get to know their offense?

I feel another Rosta move coming on to fill the gap left by LJ, we will see.

Bit disappointed on this one,
They say its because of his lack of professionalism which would
be a fairish reason but that says that they are taking a real hard line,
Personally I would have preferred it if he had seen out the season
and continued on special teams.

This Beggers Belief....

We dont know the inside story so we will just have to roll with this decision.

Shanny is showing a side of himself thats OK (bareable) when things are going well but when things arent, look out!

Good luck DT
