Got tickets for the Steelers vs Vikes game, be good to know how well the Who Dat Nation will be represented. Anybody else going? Got any good tips, this will be our first NFL game.

Enjoy it. Used to go and it was good. Would rather save for a trip to watch the saints though.

I'll be there, trip to NO little out of my price range at the moment so I look forward to the Wembley games and keep my fingers crossed they bring the Saints back over.

I'll be there! Will be my 2nd NFL game in the space of a week, get back from NO on thursday after watching the Cardnidals/Saints game!
Not that I'm bragging or anything.....:D

Only tip I can think to give is to try not waste too much time in queues for merch. There's quite a lot going on at the tailgate and waiting around for merch chews up so much time and isn't really worth it

Cheers all.

WhoDatMonkey87 - New Orleans is great. Daquiris on Bourbon Street. Breakfast at Pierre Masperos. One Mufelletta between two is enough from the Central Grocery!!! Acme Oyster House was good, queues to get in though. Southern food is best.

Never been to a Saints game hopefully in the next five years.

What's the nightlife like in New Orleans??

Hey WhoDatMonkey87, I am not sure if this is a serious question! The night life is awesome but it does depend on your tastes. There is something for everyone including casinos, but if you are into live music ranging from Jazz through cajun to alternative you will find something here. Bourbon Street is a must if you like a drink. I think you will love it. And before the game, Champions Square right next to the Dome is fantastic with bands and bars and the Saintsations dancing and its just brilliant!!! As a Saints fan you will love it. Also, if you are there for quite a long time and you want to become part of the fabric of New Orleans, you could consider giving a day to Habitat for Humanity, they do awesome stuff there. But whatever you do you will have a good time. I will be at the two London games, probably in Trafalgar square if they have it on again on the Saturday. Look out for me, I will have my White Jimmy Graham on. Cheers.

For merchandise, if you want to get it and you're around on the Saturday, get it then. They've sold it at the Trafalgar Square fan rallies previously, and I imagine they'll be selling it at the Regent Street one for the Steelers-Vikings game as well. Queues are typically a lot shorter there than they are at the fan rally.

I'll be at both games this year, haven't missed one yet. There's usually a good few Saints fans around at them (judging by jerseys) - although I won't be wearing my Brees jersey for this one myself, I'm taking my Dad who's a Vikings fan, so I'll be joining him in supporting them, just for this one game. Also he still hasn't gotten over a certain NFC Championship game and I don't want to antagonize him. ;)

Haha I guess the question about the nightlife came across as stupid.
I know it's supposed to be great but I don't actually know anybody who's been.
Really looking forward to the whole trip though! Thanks for all the info guys

I wouldn't worry about it, if you’re going anywhere away from the quarter (like Tip's or the Maple Leaf) just get a cab or the trolley. True there are a lot of dark alleys that connect the quarter but one of the problems with New Orleans is a lot of the horror stories from tourists who were so drunk on Hurricanes that they didn't make smart choices.

I'm not going to lie there have been a few high profile shootings this year but that is a country that has free and easy access to firearms and they were mostly in area's you are unlikely to go between people you have no reason to meet.

I have got lost in some very salubrious parts of NO but never really felt anymore threatened than I have in the UK, if you’re worried empty your wallet of all but carrying cash and don’t carry anything you can’t afford to lose. (a precaution I would suggest for a night out on the beer anyway)

MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: if someone stops you on the street and says “I bet you $20 I know where you got them shoes” tell em “yup I got them on the end of my feet” or “I got em on the sidewalk” it’s an old hustle but they still try it over and over again.

N.O. can be rowdy no doubt, but you are more likely to be killed with kindness by the locals who are still pleased to meet foreign visitors and even more foreign Saints fans.

Spot on. New Orleans is there to be loved and it will love you back. Just don't get so hammered you don't know what you are doing (easier said than done, take it from one who knows..!). This place is brilliant and to be a Saints fan from another part of the world will make you friends easily. Just go and have fun and never forget to be a smart traveler. I hope to bump into you on the weekend WhoDatMonkey.

Hey Who Dats...

Really enjoyed the first IS game. Was great to see the black and gold jerseys and getting shouts of WHO DAT in the street....mostly from Americans. Also met Syd Davy the Vikings super fan.

Will be back next year and hope for the Saints!

Hey gang! Been a while since I posted.

New Orleans was incredible! Few shady moments, but you quickly learn where to avoid. A lot of the people were nice and welcoming and being a Saints fan certainly did help!
Hotel was right round the corner from the Superdome which was great especially as we ended up a lil drunk from the tailgate!
Props to Martin out there too, who works with Sports Travel Tours. Drove us to and back from the LSU game and sorted out the tailgate before the Saints game. Thanks mate!

IS game, well, unfortunately I was full of cold, but still managed a few beers and yelled out a few WHO DATS! Saw a few Saints fans who unfortunately didn't respond and just looked at me all moody. What was wrong with you?!

Undecided if I'm going to attend the next game, getting there and back is a ballache and it'll more than likely be a blowout score anyway!

Ohhhh, I nearly forgot to rub this in!
Met Akiem Hicks in the hotel bar!!!! Seriously cool dude!! Took some pictures and got his autograph

The IS was great! Myself and my Ravens buddy went to the Green Man at about midday and the drinks flowed from there.....met loads of other fans and some saints too! I was wearing my Brees #9 Jersey and will be again at the next game!
Work was definately a struggle the next day though

Hope to meet more of you at the next IS game!

You're very welcome. Just make sure you hurry back so you can sample some more of that Red Snapper at the tailgate again.

I will be there. Just returning from going to the Browns game which was a disappointment. There were lots of Who Dats there. I am hoping to see plenty at the IS game.

Was awesome to see so many Saints fans at the Failcons game . . . . . pretty sure we all got the result we wanted. I lost my voice from screaming so loud and I have never wanted to see a team lose so much, lol!!! Anyway, who is about this weekend to watch the Cowgirls lose? Would certainly be good to meet up with a few fellow WhoDat's for beers.

Same here, so much booing! The 3 French Falcons guys in front kept shaking their heads at me but I didn't care, the Bucs fans in the row in front was doing it too. The best way to see them lose really wasn't it!
I'm at the Cowgirls/Jags game, probably head up to the Green Man around 1-2 for a few pre-game beers. Will wear my newly acquired JORDAN #94 Road jersey so shouldn't be too many of those about!
Give me a WhoDat! If you see me and I'm always up for a chat with fellow Saints.
