This will certainly be a different game to the thrashing the Saints dished out to the Eagles the other month. A game which actually rejuvenated them and saved their season in the end.
As a Saints fans there were small signs that Drew faded a bit in the last 1/3 of the season. The offense wasn't scoring and we actually relied on the defense to win us games. Whilst the Saints are number 1 seeds they have riden their luck a bit this season. They could have easily been 0-3 to start if not for a few missed field goals by the Browns and Falcons poor execution.
However, if the offence fires anywhere near the level its capable of then I think they will have too much for the Eagles. The extra rest some of the starters have had since week 16 could be the difference.

Eagles 24 - Saints 30

My head tells me the Saints should win this, but I really want the Eagles to pull off the upset.

Parrott1971 11.01.2019 11:35 AM

Just beat them New Orleans, please destroy the Eagles again, don't care if the score is 2-0, JUST DONT LOSE!!!

Tamar Raider 12.01.2019 09:55 AM

The Eagles have been looking like the team that won it all last season since Nick Foles came back in as the QB, I think this might be the upset of the weekend.

Eagles 24 - 17 Saints.

DarwinTheAardvark 12.01.2019 05:07 PM

Philadelphia are dangerous and have momentum on their side, but I still expect New Orleans to win this. Won’t be as one sided as the regular season meeting, but the Saints should take it by a couple of scores.

Saints 30 Eagles 20

how healthy is the Saints o-line,last time I saw them the Tackles looked injured but with how great the Eagles front 4 have been playing that seems to be the biggest factor on can the Saints keep the balance by pounding the rock.

also for the Eagles can anyone cover Kamara out of the back field and Thomas down the field.

if the Eagles keep this close into the 4th quarter anyone betting against Foles??

lee harris 10 13.01.2019 09:51 PM

Fole's on fire already.

wouldn't be shocked if we have an over time game in the dome.

nick_chicane 13.01.2019 10:25 PM

The first game this weekend that could be really, really interesting.

for all the passing stats we had this regular season the 1st 3 games this weekend all seemed to be influenced by been able to just run all over the road team but the Eagles defence looks to good for that.

staying up to watch the whole game so want a great 2nd half so fingers crossed its close.

djhdjh 13.01.2019 10:38 PM

This has been fun so far. Not sure it will stay that way without Cox or Bennett.

been brutal so far with injuries for both teams.

surely the Eagles should have known the Saints where going to fake the 4th down so take the penalty and make it 3rd and 11.

djhdjh 13.01.2019 11:13 PM

I assumed they were going to just leave the offense out there, not sure you can blame Pederson too much given where they were on the field. Maybe he trusted our short yardage team to sort it out if necessary, they're pretty good but then so is Taysom Hill.

Fletch is back. This is good.

iffies 14.01.2019 12:15 AM

That long drive has to have taken the wind out of the Eagles defense.

djhdjh 14.01.2019 12:25 AM

That 3rd and 16 looking more and more like the key play of the game. Need some magic from somewhere.

djhdjh 14.01.2019 12:44 AM

Oh Alshon! We wouldn't be here without you.

Defeat with honour. A good defence of the title in the end. Playing 5 high intensity games in 5 weeks caught up with us and the injuries tonight showed it. Plus New Orleans are a very good all round team.

Come on Andy Reid.

He certainly had a cracking night considering he's 51. :D

maybe with it been at there own 30 and so early in the game Doug just didn't see the possibility but the Saints where struggling you could see Payton would have to try something.

not sure what happened to the Eagles offence for the final 3 quarters.looked so good early on.

With a poor draft class there will be no shortage of suitors willing to give up picks for him. Eagles are up against it salary cap wise so they have no choice really but to move him on.

but can the Eagles trust Wentz to stay healthy and is Foles actually a better fit to there scheme.

the other issue is what kind of money would a QB needy team give up for a 30 year old who can only survive in the Reid system,if Keenum can get paid last year would $50m be a bottom line.

nearly forgot, why did the Eagles even snap the ball.they could have took the 2 minute warning and still controlled the clock and maybe get the winning score.

djhdjh 14.01.2019 10:50 PM

Presumably we liked the alignment and went for it. 49 times out of 50 Jeffrey comes down with the ball and it's all good.

Foles can buy his way to free agency for $2m. So unless it's a tag and trade, which I don't see us doing, it won't be a trade unless he can't get more money than his current contract but someone's happy with it for 1 year or something weird like that. Give him a line and some receivers and he'll do his thing for you like he did for us. Legend.

It will be Wentz long-term. He has more strings to his bow and can do more with less. There were several times yesterday where the pass rush got overly aggressive and a healthy Wentz would have made them pay with his legs either extending the play or running.

DeanE153 16.01.2019 03:52 PM

With the Vikings not in the playoffs, it was nice to watch the games from a neutral perspective as I have no preference no who wins any of the games.

I was impressed with the Saints. Went 14-0 down, never panicked and even got creative with the fake punt to get a first down and get things moving.

The Saints showed balls that I have not seen from the Vikings since Zimmer took over, I get that he is a defensive coach but sometimes you need to do something to get back into a game - another great example was when it was 4 and 1 at the Eagles 5. It was only the first quarter still - a more conservative team would have kicked the field goal put 3 points up and took the attitude that there's plenty of time left - the Saints went for it and put up 7 instead.

No guts no glory.

lee harris 10 30.01.2019 09:26 PM

well it looks like Sean Payton was rocking the barstool "goodell clown face" t-shirt today at his end of season presser.

seems the NFL also didn't come out last Monday(or since) and comment on the blown call as they wheren't happy with Payton coming out after the game and talking about his conversation with Riveron.
