You can never say never. You can't.

The New England Patriots came close to breaking this record in the 2007 season, but they couldn’t win in the Superbowl against the New York Giants, meaning they ended the season 18-1. Other than this occasion, no other team has come close to becoming undefeated and I don’t think no team ever will. Ever. Here’s why.
"I conclude that no team will manage to go undefeated ever again despite the fact that a team nearly did it only a few years ago."

To be honest, this article really needs to attack the maths of the whole 'going undefeated' question to be credible.

Don't agree with number 4. I don't think hype really plays that much into it but the other reasons seems fairly straight forward and accurate. But it's still possible.

Every team has a chance of winning every game they play in, so although it is unlikely that a team goes undefeated there is always a chance.

Completly disagree with the article whilst the points are in some cases valid as said above by Mackem every team has the ability to win every game.

You say that a team will bench it's starters at 13-0 and thus will lose some of their final games? Why can the back-ups not play beyond their potential and win games themselves, we've seen it before and will see it again. Plus teams will bench a few of their starters but not an entire offense, starting QB's tend to always start if not pulled late in the game so I do think the theory is a little null and void.

It is as ever difficult to do but it will happen again.

and the Colts had the chance to do it but rested Manning against the Jets/Bills when they were 14-0 and made the superbowl. Not as close as the Patriots came but that is twice in a few seasons where a team had a legit chance to go undefeated.

even the games we lose, really we should have won, so we have had countless winning seasons recently . .
