4-3 to stay

The decision to stay 4-3 has been made.

Personally I'm good with this decision. Our O is built to win now, changing to a 3-4 given the all-round lack of existing talent, average draft pick positions and and fairly low cap space, the chances would be another poor D year. A quick fix on D could make us genuine contenders.

From what I read we can expect to see some situational 3-4 stuff too..

From Tucker "Our pressure packages will fit our personnel and be dynamic enough where we can play to guys' strengths and be unpredictable

Shea is ready made to be an OLB. I expect to see us showing a fair amount of those sort of looks too.

Flexibility requires a standout line and fast LBs... lets hope we get them!

Tells me Shea is on a shorter leash this year.

The way we play 3-4 4-3 or whatever is actually not of interest it's more what packages and plays tucker has the way he leads the defence and the way we actually improve this year.

Big year for tucker as I expect anyone to be an improvement on major wrong

And given that the biggest problem was defending against the running game, sticking to a 4-3 defence is probably the safer option.

Watching today's press conferences with testmen and emery, I actually don't think they have settled on a plan for next year yet. I think we will actually wait to see what our roster is ,what players we have and then fit the system around them! It's fantastic coaching and good intelligenance, something we don't see from The bears front office too often.

All the signs point to 3-4 but this coaching team love messing with us fans.

Bring in two hugely 3-4 experienced position coaches to provide expertise to a coach in Mel Tucker that is versed in a 3-4? The same linebacker coach in Herring that oversaw a transition from a 43 to a 34 in Houston

And then say nope saying 4-3... Love playing mind games does our front office I love it lol
