Super Bowl in Glasgow
 

[Hi forum,

Usually PJ champs would be my Watering hole for the Super bowl but sadly it has closed down.

I was thinking of maybe organising a party exclusively for the event. Years previously I have had to endure so many distraction to the game ie drunks and loud music. I have already contacted a venue in the west end who has the necessary equipment such as many TVs and sound...plus booze and food. I just believe that if all football fans could congregate to one area then it would make the atmosphere that bit better.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and opinions or if you know anywhere that is all ready holding such an event.

Campus normally do it but the sound is just upstairs and you hear all the pish tunes from downstairs

I'm almost 100 per cent sure Faktory in west end will do something considering I watch college and NFL games there sometimes

I've not been since they changed it from PJ Champs to be honest, wasn't sure what kind of place it had become.

The deal I had planned out with the Venue was that it would be a £5 entry (what it was in PJ Champs last year) and this would include a free pint or soft drink. As long as I get a decent venue to show it I would be more than happy.

I'd recommend Faktoty if it were booked out for that just because it's the same layout as Champs was. But obviously if other place is as big or bigger it'll be great too

i'd be up for traveling through for this if there is something organised!

Think the casino in Merchant city may show it, they apparently like to officially announce it very close to the game, but I'd support a fully dedicated venue for the night, as I know from the sports cafe days, when trying to watch random sky games got bugged by people distracting you from the game, while their superbowl parties were great, with great atmosphere. Due to the former situation, I like to avoid the likes of Campus and Ocature.

Although I could survive it as I did in PJ Champs, try and avoid the licencing issues of PJ Champs. It'll help drum up support fro the event

Would say rather it was more city centre based as I'm from the East side, but NFL beggers can't be NFL choosers! Can you name the venue or at least the general location in the west end (even compaire it to PJ Champs)?

We could all chip-in and buy the old sports cafe, assuming that it is still vacant.
