Horse racing thread

Anyone got a fancy for the King George at Kempton today?

PavlovsDog 26.12.2013 06:12 PM

Silvianiaco Conti.;)

No seriously, I did back him, I was actually at Kempton today with the wife. Out of a 6 race card, I had 4 winners and a place and a straight forecast, while the wife had the two winners in the two races where I didn't, so between us we picked winners in all six. Not a bad day out!

Very nice I had 1 winner and 1 place out of 4 bets but it was a good days racing all round didn't go but looked a top day and with all your winners must have been an excellent day.

had a 10p e/w patent on my tent or yours silviniaco conti and quaddick lake last one let me down

I had £2.50 e/w on conti before the day, but thanks to TNO had a free bet and couldn't get it on in time....missed out on £60, absolutely fuming when he went past the line haha

Until the last I was trying to work out how much I was going to put on Cue Card for the Gold Cup, but I think today showed that he should stickwith the RyanAir at Chelts, if you cant last 3 miles at Kempton, you wont last 3m1f at Cheltenham

Tragic to hear about Sprinter sacre hope we haven't seen the last off him, great run from Bobs Worth today.

Sacre came through a canter on Friday with no problems

Still potentially on for the Champion Chase

That's fantastic love watching the star horses, need all the quality for Cheltenham and Aintree.

Supposedly its Cheltenham or nothing for him, in that, if he isn't fit for the CC he will be put away for the season.

So this weeks news:

Big Bucks loses to 66/1 outsie Knockara Beau in his come back race.
Terrible ride from STD imo, his first race back and he has him right behind the leaders who set of a tremendous pace, I've never seen BB ridden like that, and to really test his stamina on his first race back with the hill? Not smart.
Do they make an SoS call to Ruby, AP or Barry?

Barney Curney
4 horses connected to him, all get punted in from big odds to around evens and win, cost the bookies from anywhere between £2mil and £15mil according to differing reports.
A great day or a sad day?

Sacre again overcomes another gallop with everything regular, looking more and more likely to be okay for Cheltenham. If he runs he wins imo. sire de grudy is winning, but he's being pushed out to win by smaller margins than SS did without BG moving an inch.
