New to NFL

Alright guys,

Never really thought about getting into NFL before, but after watching a few games I'm hooked. Still learning everything and it all seems daunting! I have no ties with any American cities etc, so had a look through teams and I liked what I saw with the Bronchos!

Just thought I'd post to show my face, and if anyone can help me out with anything it would be great!

Basically, watch every Broncos game on TV and buy some sort of merchandise :) Also, John Elway is God...as is Peyton Manning now...

Unless he does anything wrong and then he's a Colts reject ;)

I've just bought the NFL season pass, so I can catch up on games from the last few years, etc.

For starters, watch this:

Kind of illustrates the reasons as to why John Elway is God. Unfortunately couldn't find the link to the 1998 documentary, but in case you didn't know already, the Broncos won that one too! :D

Definitely get some merchandise, you'll need to be wearing silly amounts of Orange on game day, and then open a couple of Brewski's and enjoy the highlights of last season... (Just maybe miss out the Ravens playoff game :( ...ahh heck, watch that one too, it was an unbelievable game even if we did go on to lose it!)

Welcome to the Forum, and more importantly, welcome to supporting one of the best franchises in the NFL! (For History, and current...just ignore the last decade of so before last year!)

As people have mentioned, there's a long and distinguished history for a team classed as "NFL Royalty".

There's been a few links put up - namely "The Drive" from 1986 with Elway, the 1997 Season, and you can find 1998/1999 online (Superbowl 32/33).

Of course, you can always look at certain points from the franchise too - "Orange Crush" - One of the best Defenses ever to play the game imho (well, against the rush at least :D)
Elway, with his 5 Superbowl appearances, Superbowl 32/33, "This one's for John", his emotional retirement, and everything since
Terrell Davis, with his 2000 yard season, and Superbowl MVP (which I think he said he couldn't see for most of it? :D)
Plummer - Leading the team to post season after post season...but no Superbowls. You can pretty much stop reading there until last year if you want...nothing to see here...wink wink

If you want to just have a positive look on the Broncos, you can look at Tebow, Fox and the like. You might want to miss the whole McDaniels era, the video-taping, the Marshall trade, the 4-12 season (although that did mean we managed to draft Miller!)

The Broncos have a long and fantastic history. Some bad, some good, and a lot great. You've picked a great franchise to follow!

Welcome to the Club!
