The other problem with resigning Colledge is that sooner rather than later we’re going to be doing a new deal for Josh Sitton. If you pay Colledge the going rate, which is at bare minimum likely to be about $6m per year… where does that leave your negotiation with Sitton? It also leaves you with the possibility of no long term LT and a lot of money already tied up in your line.

Regarding Spitz, at the end of the day the only playing time he had this year he was absolutely awful and got benched coming off the bench. Dietrich-Smith and McDonald are both C prospects with bright enough futures by all reports to think that they can be counted on as backups. Plus we always add offensive linemen in the draft/FA.
