It will happen again, just a matter of time. Could happen next year or in 100 years but it will happen eventually.

I remember years ago reading an article saying no top tier football team (soccer) could go undefeated in a season. The next year Arsenal did it. OK not all wins, but its a different game and as much of an achievement us an undefeated NFL season.

What is more likely, a team going 19-0 or 0-16?

Well, no one has ever gone 19-0 but one team has gone 0-16.

One team went 17-0 and one went 0-14.

A number of teams have come close including, Green Bay a few years back and the Steelers before that going 15-1 Vikings a few years before that, Colts, Saints and Patriots more recently and even the Broncos a decade or so ago.

So in the past what 12-15 years you've had teams come within one, two or three games of a perfect regular season so it happens a few times a decade a team coming close to that perfect season...

It'll happen again one day.

The only scenario where it won't happen again is if the NFL folds before, but I'd rank that as less likely in the medium - long term than a team winning every game.

Though I suppose winning the SB off the back of an 11-0-5 record would also count as going undefeated. That'll happen eventually as well, unless they change the rules such that no games can end in a tie

I think the Packers and Broncos have the best shot at it this season.

The NFC West is a beast. Hard to see any team running that table. McCarthy has shown he knows how to handle the North. Fair amount of chaos in the Afc West.

If the Packers' rookies have a stormer, and if the line holds up, and if the D holds up, and if Aa God doesn't get splattered...

Rodgers to Cobb/Nelson/Jones/Finley with Lacy/Franklin/Cobb out of the backfield.

If we stay healthy then there's a teeny tiny chance. A teeny tiny smidgin of a half chance.

If we get to our bye 3-0... well, ye never know. If Aa God has a rating of 122.5 again, with a run game and a healthy D...

Hey, a man can dream.
