I see, seems a bit cheeky that he can still keep that belt when fighting at another weight but yeah I see your point, it makes sense $ wise.

There are really only 3 fights you could make: Tate, Zingano, Nunes. Nunes isn't a big enough name yet, and Zingano hasn't fought in a year and shouldn't get a title shot off the back of losing to Ronda in 14 seconds. Tate is on a 4 fight win streak, and was promised that the fight with Eye would be for a shot at the title, she won, and the shot was given to Holm. She's also a big name, so an impressive win for Holly makes the rematch with Ronda that much bigger.

tbh just one of those fighters i cant stand and rarely impresses me.

the wait would be worth it imo, a loss is possible and that makes things messy.

You also have to bear in mind that Holly's a 33 year old woman who has mentioned in the past that she wants to have children at some point. I just don't think it'd be fair to make her wait at this point in her career for an opponent who may be ready in 7 months, or may be ready in 12 months or may take even longer than that.

I don't see a Holm loss messy at all. A loss for Holm makes two good matches immediately viable - Holm/Rousey and Tate/Rousey. And should Rousey then beat Tate, Rousey/Holm is a logical next match.

A win for Holm vs Tate keeps the champion in the spotlight ready for a Rousey rematch.

looking at matts post, it would make it messy for Holm having to wait for the big match.

Don't forget to set your VCR for Dillashaw/Cruz, Pettis/Alvarez, Mitrione/Browne and Pearson/some 37 year old Brazilian on a 4 fight win streak on Sunday night/Monday morning. I assume they're doing it on the Sunday so that they're not competing with the NFL.

Also Cris Cyborg will be knocking some eastern European woman unconscious on Saturday night at Invicta FC 15.

a good card on paper but the fights didnt catch fire, although the main event was the pick of the bunch.

Pearson was stuck against someone who didnt want to fight and i felt he didnt enough to get the call given the constant pressure.

not much of a main event but a beastly showing from Rumble.

Bisping vs Sliva could be interesting but probably just another fight thats a step too far.
