Didn't seem like they had too much interest in their pick beyond Baltimore.

It seems unless Elliott runs for 15,000 yards in his Cowboys career he'll be seen as a 'luxury' pick. RB's are always held to much higher statistical standards than most. If Zeke has a career like Jamal Lewis (Ravens), who was picked at no.5, would that be good enough? He played 9 seasons, had close to 8,000 yards in his 6 seasons in Baltimore, and finished his career with 10,607 yards.

I don't think we can look at this draft in isolation when it comes to assessing the QB situation. 2016 is the 1st time the Cowboys seem to have been serious about finding one. Between now and Romo's retirement I think we'll have to look at all those draft's, what they end up with at QB, and who they passed on. Once we know that we can say if picking Elliott here was a bad move or not.

In the short term though we've got a 20 year old RB, a 25 year old LT, a 22 year old LG, a 25 year old C, and a 25 year old RG. Lets run the football!

Not too sold on the pick - would have preferred Ramsey in terms of filling a need but Elliott should have a perfect situation to display his talents. On a side note does the pick mean one of McFadden or Morris could be on the way out?

Was surprised at the attempt to trade up for Lynch, will be interesting to see if they rate any of the other QBs left (Cook, Hackenberg, Prescott) to select them in the 2nd round or to try and trade up for.

I think they'll be happy to have all 3 RB's on the roster. McFadden will probably move on after this year, and Morris after 2017.

Here's a bit of 'Sports Science' by ESPN. Elliott vs Henry, 2 different RB's.

Apparently Elliott cuts like Peterson, spins like McCoy, and has a ceiling of Marshawn Lynch. Now that's what you call hype.

Now that's what you call pressure! As if his high draft position isn't enough. Think he'll be fine though.

Jerry has apparently said they have 1st round graded players still left on their board (a wise thing to say regardless).

If that's true though then I don't see them trading away from them when this thing kicks back off tonight.

Delighted with the Elliot draft. Would like to see Cook next then fill the D with the rest.

Rapoport now reporting that the Cowboys are trying to trade up to 32 with the Browns for a pass rusher.

Don't trust that at this stage. Can't see anyone who is that much better than anyone else to have to move up 2 spots. Guessing Jerry would be giving up a 2017 pick or flipping picks in round 4 or 5. they do like to move up in round 2 in recent years though.

One to keep an eye on.

I wish the Cowboys would get someone in the war room who can use a phone!!! Every year, every year, someone is faffing around trying to figure out how to use the bank of phones when the Cowboys are on the clock. Stephen Jones just gets angrier and angrier, more and more people emerge from the edge of the screens to try and help, then it all ends up with no trade being made.

On the bright side Jaylon Smith is only 20 (like Zeke). If he returns to the field in 2017 he's 21, plenty of time on his side.

Still baffling when the Zeke pick screamed 'win now', then they go and use what is effectively a 1st round pick on a guy who can't help for at least 12 months.

They clearly don't like the long term prognosis for Jack. If they took Jack that would at least have tied in with the 'win now' approach.

They love injured LB's in round 2 though. See Carter, Bruce. Lee, Sean. That and DE's with alleged drug 'issues'.
