Following ZT being offered a deal at $1.5M this year with $1.5M hitting next years Cap, the feeling is the cowboys have few options left. (this is after all the variables)

Either allow Flozell Adams to leave, sign the 2008 draft rookies to longer back loaded contracts or trade away one of this years first round picks for picks next year.

Its is believed that the Cowboys have about $11m cap room, following the Tagging of Ken Hamlin.
Estimates have $4m taken up with signing draft picks.

That leaves $7m to re-sign Barber and Adams. Even if it is split $3.5m a year is less than half what either could expect in the Free Agency Market.

So what do we do? do we go the way of the redskins for one shot at it all?

Flozell signs 6 year deal.

No full details yet but the length suggests that a lot of Cap space worries have been eased.

We have also tendered MARION BARBER AND Chris Canty.

Unconfirmed rumours on the boards are that Romo has agreed to some restructuring only if it means resigning Adams?

Details emerge.

Starting left tackle Flozell Adams signed a six-year deal worth more than $43 million – $15 million guaranteed – on Thursday, hours before he could have hit the free agent market.

The length of the contract coincides with Romo's deal, which ends in 2013.

And it seems that some of this cap space is coming from the loss of Jason Ferguson, with Miami the likely destination.
Ferguson is in his last year and has a cap number of about $4mil this year. If this is to be in the form of a player trade or late round pick is unclear.

Ahh not a huge regular on here any more, bot the Dallas fanbase has grown. ;D

So, resigned Flo. Great move by JJ. Now we need to sort out the other JJ...

Personally, i wouldn't put it past Jerry for him to do anything, so over this FA weekend jeep your eyes open.

Actually excited about an Offseason.

^^^

Absolutely!

And there are a few that should be available come pick #22 and/or #28:

Rodgers-Cromatie
Reggie Smith
Aqib Talib
Leodis McKelvin
Mike Jenkins

At least one of those would fall to us with either pick.

You could make a case for taking 2 CB in the first round!

We really have no one to trust as the third CB, which needs addressing with the first pick.

But the only other needs are a back up RB, which can easily be picked up in the 2nd round, and a back up WR.

There are only a few WR worth a first round pick, and they might not be available at 22. (Kelly, Sweed, Jackson, Doucet)

Our WR are good enough for one more year, Owens, Crayton, Hurd and Austin, along with Witten, Fasano and Curtis can get it done, if Glenn returns, even better. And Stanbeck seems to be ready for limited reps.

So a back up WR is not as urgent as some might think, and will have very little impact on our season.

I would think in a Draft void of Safety talent we could shop Williams somewhere, possibly for a 2nd rounder, take two CBs in the first, move Henry to Safety, and pick up two RBs in the second, and a back up QB in the third.

Personally I hope its :
RB Chris Johnson
CB Reggie Smith
WR Eddie Royal
FB Jacob Hestor
