Default Texans Thread

Is it me, or does anyone feel the texans aren't going to the playoffs thiscoming season?

Yes, slightly pessimistic i know, but lets face it, David Carr needs full plate armour to protect himself from getting sacked.

I mean its not going to be a disaster season, but I'm thinking... 8-8?

What does everyone else think?

The Texans could be a dark horse this season, Carr to Johnson is becoming a household phrase and your defence has improved greatly. A few decent FA/draft pickups and the Texans may gain a WC and have a chance at the playoffs.

8-8 would be my tip if they stand pat; if they can beef up the O-Line, it could be the difference between .500 mediocrity and a Wild card.

Of recent expansion teams, Carolina and Jacksonville both went to the playoffs in their second seasons and Cleveland went in its 4th. So if they don't make it this year they will be the slowest expansion team to have made the playoffs since.......I'll let someone else answer that.

I think that the Texans will have their best season in Franchise history, but with the Colts still being strong and the Jags looking like they will be really good, I think 3rd place in the division will be the best they can do.

Since Seattle. It took them untill their eighth season to make it to January.
Even the mighty 0-14 Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to do it at their fourth attempt. (And I mean the 0-14 Buccaneers, because they still had most of their players from that dismal season playing for them.)

But anyway, seeing that ive started this thread (I'm important! wow), what about the draft this year?

I honestly don't know much about the big picks in this years draft (I never do) but according to www.houstanprofootball.com (excellent site) say that the top 13 players the texans need are:

1. Derrick Johnson
2. Pac Man Jones
3. Cedric Benson
4. Ronnie Brown
5. Shawne Merriman
6. Braylon Edwards
7. Carnell Williams
8. Marcus Spears
9. Heath Miller
10. Antrel Rolle
11. Alex Barron
12. Thomas Davis
13. Erasmus James

Comments? I know we need to improve the O - line, but thats all i know really... lol

Hey, If it wasn't for me the texans wouldnt have a thread!
