The No. 1 overall player on the #Bills board? Tavon Austin. So... Would they trade that? Intrigue #NFLDraft
Would take time to be happy about this pick. Always a issue with smaller frame guys how well they can take NFL hits and aviod injury.

Welcome to the team EJ Manuel

Let's step off the ledge Buffalo fans. EJ Manuel was never what people expected at Florida State which was Cam Newton but he is far from a bad prospect. Six foot five 240lbs not Vick, RG III or Newton fast but can scramble. One of the strongest arm prospects we have had play in the Ralph because as we learned for Fitz, Trent as well as everyone else it helps having a cannon in this stadium.

We hired an offensive minded head coach who needs a QB to develop. Why waste Marrone scheme on Kolb, or T-Jacks? They have spent all offseason spending plenty of time interviewing studying 10 different QBs they found their guy, they get the feeling they have a guy that will do the off the field work. Bills have finally gambled on a QB their highest pick on one since Jim Kelly in 1983. If it doesn't work they tried to find a QB which is more than they have done in a long time we can't compete with no passing game. This isn’t JP Losman the 4th QB taken albeit in a strong class this is the QB they rated 1# if the scheme is right this could be a great pick.

Some Stats

4-0 in bowl games only the 2nd QB to do that in NCAA history.

Career 66%+ passer.

Rushed for 800 yards in his career with 11 TDs so can run.

25-6 record as starter.

Compare him to Ryan Tannehill purely as an easy example the raw QB taken last season that people felt was decent value purely as two raw QBs whom people have very different attitudes on.

Passing, EJ %66 , 61% Tannehill
Yards per attempt, EJ 8.8, 7.1 Tannehill
Similar frame/arm

Tannehill lead preseason ranked 8th Texas A&M to an unranked bust of a 7-6 season, EJ Manuel lead 7th ranked Florida State to a disappointing 11-2 season still ranking them top 10 end of season Florida State’s first BCS bowl win since 1999. Once you get beyond the hype you or lack of it you can see why he was the first taken he has some unique attributes purely physically he is more impressive than any other QB in this class there is no major issue with his accuracy he very nice upside. If reports about the guys work ethic and commitment are legit we should end up being very happy with EJ.

Not familiar with the guy but he looks big and strong so could be a wise pick. Maybe not the expected choice some had predicted but we've got to put our faith with coach Marrone. Go Manuel !!

Liking your 2 & 3 picks. If Manuel pays off this could be a killer draft for you guys.

Heard an interview with EJ Manuel after a visited the Jets I think. Seems a down to earth guy who is a real grafter. Any failure wont be down to lack of effort put it that way.

Welcome to the new boys

Robert Woods USC WR, decent enough speed, well coached, caught 251 passes for 2,924 yards and 32 touchdowns in three seasons. Looks ready to step in and make an impact.

Kiko Alonso Oregon, ILB 6'3", 238-pound 127 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, a sack and four interceptions. Needed linebackers for hybrid and they got their guy, should be pushing for snaps for day 1.

Quote:
Daniel Jeremiah# Oregon LB Kiko Alonso made 3-4 impact plays in every game I studied. He's had some off field stuff but he's a rock solid 2nd rd pick on tape
Marquise Goodwin WR Texas, Don't really get the pick never put up stats at Texas. Fast really fast was limited in snaps at Texas after missing spring practices while training for the Olympics with Mac Brown never fully getting really giving him the chance to put up numbers. Very similar looking to TJ Graham.

He seems like he has his head in the right place to be a success the guy isn't the most articulate but comes of like he level headed player very likeable.

A point on Buffalo Rumblings and it's a fair one you can see the plan. The Bills are going to spread and strech the field. They are not going after giant WRs that are match up nightmares they are going speed to open up down field passing. Expect plenty of plays out of the spread which makes sense the scheme change Syracuse changed to 2 weeks before last season was from a pro style one to a uptempo passing game which got success. Coach Marrone has to be hopefully that if the scheme worked with a guy lacking in deep ball range in Nassib then with a cannon armed EJ Manuel it will produce results. Has the bonus that EJ Manuel will not be asked to take too many snaps under centre before he is ready.

Three players the Bills have that could make all the difference

CJ Spiller 4.37 40. yard dash combine.
TJ Graham. 4.35 yard dash pro day.
Marquise Goodwin: 4.27 combine time.

It's Al Davis Raider like but speed is speed. It's just about the fasted set of three players any team in the NFL has right now.

With EJ Manuel they have an arm that strech the field and make big plays. With Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods catching the intermediate throws they have a 4 WR that could produce serious offence.
