Default Fitzpatrick released..

Common news so let's get it up in the Bills thread .

Quote:
The Buffalo Bills have decided to release Ryan Fitzpatrick, their starting quarterback for the vast majority of the past four years, reports Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News. The Bills have confirmed the move, which comes in advance of the team owing Fitzpatrick a $3 million roster bonus tomorrow, and saves the team $7.45 million in cash.

In a bit of an upset, Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com reports that the Bills cut Fitzpatrick after the start of the new league year as a post-June 1 designation, meaning that they've deferred $7 million of the $10 million cap hit from the release to the 2014 season. That means that the Bills will eat only $3 million this season, giving them another $7 million to play with this off-season.
Given all the dislike he gets for being bellow average starter get good money I will praise the guy. Since stepping him carried himself well to the media fans, played with heart and fun reckless style. He was a stop QB playing for a team in flux. Considering he was signed off waivers with no expectations Fitz finishing 3rd in Buffalo’s history for TDs thrown is a decent return. Also did pulled off the only Win against New England in about a decade of trying.

Good luck on him for the future from one Bills fan at least I was all ways happy to cheer for him in the Blue and Red,

I echo those words, yes we all wanted to fly to Buffalo and shoot Fitz with the Amish Rifle for those bad descions, but he was an average QB that won games(ok not many) apparantly he was offered a reduced contract which he refused.

Plus losing Levritre as well thats probably gunna be harder hope they resign Rhinehart ASAP.

Sucks about Levitre but fair play to him Titans give a huge contract. Get the feeling Buffalo knew about the size the market was going to offer so didn't counter offer. Works out for him big money works out for Titans they have huge money invested in Chris Johnson they need that blocking to get him back to his play making best.

Rhinehart, Urbik aren't a bad guards to have not quite Levitre but come about $40 million cheaper.

To go on a downer. Levitre joins a growing list of young players that didn't bust that left after their 1st contract joining Donte Whitner, Lynch, Posluszny in recent drafts. It's why this team still can't get any direction every time they hit on a draft pick they end up leaving and the Bills spend a high pick on the replacement and the whole cycle starts again.

Nice guy but not good enough.

Now we need to trade up or pray one of the 2 better QB's are still around at No.8 pick.

Finally we could be heading in the right direction!

Sudenly im all excited about the Draft and next season...well maybe on the later ... depending on the draft!

No.

A winning season would be nice. Haven't had one since 2004. Even 8-8 would feel like progress.

Back to the draft though, there are potentially the Jags and Cards who could take a QB ahead of us. Will beinteresting to see if we are happy to take Smith if he is there, if not settle for Nassib.

We're closer before we had a Headcoach and a QB that couldn't get the job done now at least we in the market for a QB and got a new Headcoach that could get the job done. It's straws to grasp but we are closer and in a much better step up to rebuild in than when Jauron left.
