The deal that’s being reported to sign Gruden seems crazy. $100 for ten years. Hope he’s still got it.

Yes it's a lot to pay out if it all goes wrong in a couple of years. Gruden will apparently be calling the plays, which is just as well as he's got Greg Olson lined up to return as offensive coordinator. No I'm not joking...

Crazy deal for Gruden. A big part of it has to be building up hype for the LV move. Whichever way it works out, it will sure be an interesting few years!

Hopefully Greg Olson has learned a thing or two from Sean McVay with his time at the Rams.

Olsen is the QB whisperer don't forget. Also like the DC hire. Really unsure about Gruden but a big part of what makes a HC is the people he surrounds himself with.

I predict an average to slightly above average D and a rejuvenated Derek Carr next season.

Still going to be 7-9 mind....

Gruden is a risk but rather him than a mediocre retread or uninspiring coordinator. At least Chucky has the most important attribute found in all good HCs ... great leadership skills.

Too many teams hire guys who are good with their Xs and Os, but lack the ability to command the respect of the locker room. Gruden is an alpha dog with a dominant personality.

This is what Del Rio was the last couple of years. Not a great Xs and Os guy but seemed to get respect out of the team. Looked like this faltered this season, rumours of locker room issues/etc..
As you said, Gruden won't take BS and will command respect, but he's probably a much better Xs and Os than Del Rio was too.

Any coach would've looked good with that Broncos defense from a few years ago. One of the best ever. Jack seems to be a good man but he was never going to take us the full distance and made some awful choices with his coordinators. I appreciate what he's done though.

Kolton Miller it is then. Slightly disappointing, thought we could have squeezed a lot more out of Arizona, especially as they were after a potential franchise QB. Miller probaly wouldn't have lasted until our round pick but still quite a reach to take him that early, another trade down would have made it look better. Bryant is a good freebie pick though, assuming he steers clear of suspensions.

Nagging feeling that we are going to regret passing on Derwin James though, especially going to a division rival, plus Minkah Fitzpatrick was there had we stayed put. Wonder how much Chubb going to Denver played in to the decision...

Looks like Gruden is going shopping for a backup QB, Connor Cook did well in the first game but both he and Manuel have been pathetic in the last two games. We're likely screwed anyway if Derek goes down, but Gruden has shown that if you are not good enough, you're out. Also gives us an extra roster spot to carry just two QBs

Are there any decent back ups out there to be had though?
