Won by 56 runs, great performance! Hopefully we can take this momentum into the Ashes...

If I was in charge of the ECB I'd rip up the contract right in front of the adidas executives' faces, before introducing my Nike-shod soles to their posteriors, and call for a carpet-bombing of all their factories.

So.... ashes predictions anyone?

I'm going with 2-2 in the series, with neither side ever getting a clear prolonged period on top. I think we will see quite a few low totals, and would expect to see some high quality pace bowling from both sides.

I think the obvious candidates will perform well, and wouldn't be surprised to see some turn over in the batting line ups... The likes of Ballance, Bell, Voges and Watson/Marsh will be under a lot of pressure to perform and could well find themselves replaced.

I'd also expect to see most of Autralia's pace bowlers feature during the series, and I think we may well see England rotating a little with Wood's lack of fitness at times.

Pretty bland predictions, but I don't see too many big surprises happening in this series. The most interesting thing could be to see who England would bring in if they made a change in their batting line up.

Apparently Sachin Tendulkar doesn't know what taxis are for.

Not very optimistic about this, England have a dreadful record at Lords.

Probably the only positive is how much Warner will be kicking himself after missing out on a big score.
