Agree. Very consistent, in to his late 30's too. Never had a truly great season though in terms of sack numbers. 14.5 being his best single season number. That's not to say he wasn't a great player, he was, 17 seasons and 4th All Time in sacks. His longevity and consistency helped see to that.

Former Vikings QB Wade Wilson has died, on his 60th birthday.

One of my first NFL memories was Minnesota constantly flip flopping between him and Tommy Kramer at QB. R.I.P...

Peppers legacy will be enhanced by the old longevity factor - did a lot over a longer period than most.

4th all time in sacks - but those 159 came in 266 games. Only Bruce Smith played more games than those who appear in the Top 50 career sacks list

Not wanting to criticize a great career, the HoF Committee love a Pass Rusher, but not a 1st balloter for me, particularly with Ware, Freeney, & Allen coming up for eligibility soon

I tend to agree on the 1st Ballot thought.

How those other pass rushes you mentioned are viewed will go a long way towards the judgement of Peppers credentials I suppose. Obviously it'll depend on the quality of other inductees in his class too.

Seems like he was the Cowboys QB Coach for an eternity, way back before the Parcell days even. RIP.

would put Peppers ahead of Jared Allen on that list but will be interesting to see if the HOF voters start to look past just the sack numbers and look at how some DE's held up playing the run rather than just as pure pass rushers.

also if Freeney goes is so should Robert Mathis.

Eagles are expected to pick up the $20m option and then try to trade Foles.

could become a fun little game though, as Foles can buy it out for $2m but the Eagles could tag him.

of course they could leave him alone and get the comp pick.

How much cap hell would the Eagles be in if they picked up the $20 mill or if they tagged him?

Guessing they find a middle ground. Some team will blink and trade a 2nd round pick for him.

They'd be $18m+ over the cap as it stands.

Picking up the option is just about control at this point. It kicks the big decisions further down the line basically.
