Default chances this year

Hi,

New to the NFL and watched the Andrew Luck masterclass on sky and was impressed. Just wondering about the colts chances this year, I noticed they didn't have a 1st round draft pick this year(or if they did I must have missed it) will thios affect them?

I don't know if we would be toast. I think Hasselbeck can win a few games and if we get the running game going, the quarterback won't have to do it all. I do think we will still have pressure to score 25+ points per game as our secondary is suspect.

Robert Mathis, Reggie Wayne and Adam Vinatieri are the only 3 guys left from the 2006 superbowl, and all three are among the best in the NFL at their position. Mathis coming off a career year, Wayne coming off an ACL and meniscus tear, and Vinatieri seems to never get old. When it's all said and done, Vinatieri will be in the hall of fame, and you'll be able to make a strong case for Mathis and Wayne to get there one day.

Side note: Next year will be the first time a guy who I watched play as a Colt goes into the hall of fame, if Marvin Harrison gets voted in as he should have been this year.

You started this thread a couple of days ago so you've probably already looked into it, but our first round pick from this year was traded to Cleveland last September for Trent Richardson, which didn't really work out last year to say the least, but we're going to need him to pay off going forward.

Thanks for that,
Heard a lot of good stuff about Reggie Wayne, also heard good stuff about the head coach and some interesting stuff about Jim Irsay. Looking forward to the season ahead.

Reggie wayne and marvin harrison form a unique bit if history.

The colts are the first and only team to have two people catch 1,000 receptions for them.

Reggie Wayne is a credit to the position he works hard, he is a good team player and he hasn't killed anyone (Marvin!)

As an outsider I would say in the much weaker conference only one team is better than you at the moment.

My AFC Power Rankings top 3 would be:

1. Broncos
Tied 2nd Colts and Pats

The home team would win a playoff meeting between the Colts and Pats
if either of you two get home advantage in the playoffs you can beat Denver.

So you lot have plenty to be excited about and note one key fact:

Brady and Manning will both be gone in two to three years then their will be a power vacuum in the AFC and you are currently the best placed to dominate when they exit stage

The future is horse shoed in the AFC at least!
