offensively it will be great to have a healthy QB back and even more importantly, we need to drastically improve the o-line. i'm convinced that barlow can do far better when he has some blocking in front of him.

So In terms of QB and RB, who thinks Rattay is the guy, Or Dorsey, Pickett or someone else?

Barlow, Is he the Guy? Terry Jackson and Maurice Hicks are the others on the depth chart. I admit I don't know an awful lot about these two are ther guys for the future.

Who does anyone think we will realistically pick up in the Draft or FA?

I'd give Rattay this season, woh knows he could be another Brees, and we must also remember injuries kind of stalled his season somewhat and he didnt have a lot of weapons.

If Leinhart had been available it would have been a different story for me.

At the moment I think Rattay has to be given the nod at the mo, even if Leinart had declared, this draft should be used for other, bigger needs. We have a solid QB in Rattay and a development project in Pickett, If when Rattay leaves/ retires/ becomes rubbish Pickett or Dorsey can't be considerd as a starter then I think we should go after a QB in the high rounds of the draft, but at the moment Rattay needs to be given the time he deserves.

The Recivers have to step up though, as good as Johnson is I don't think we can survive with a TE as the primary target.

Why not... I could name about 5 other teams who do ... although they do have at least one other player on the offence who is half decent

Why not? I don't know, I just don't think we can. I have no basis for that. I think Having a good TE is essential for a team like the niners but The potential for TE injuries on blocking assignments and such would seem to be much higher at they would be blocking DE's and Blitzing LB's who are going to be equal or bigger in size. than the WR's who have to block CB's who arer likley to be the same or smaller. + the CB's will probably waiting to see what the WR does so the WR has the upper hand.

If the Primary target TE goes down then we are screwed, but if we have a good set of WR's will lessen the blow of loosing a good TE.

Wouldn't ber suprised if we did tag peterson, If just to try and keep him round untill we have enough space to give him a proper contract.

i dont think EJ will have as productive a year as last season because teams have now seen the threat he has become and will pay more attention to him. hopefully a revamped o-line will give the ratt the time he needs to spread the ball. in every game we did spread it, we marched down the field, even against the patriots (for a while anyway). with the return of the WCO under nolan, we should have a system better suited to our players attributes. the one thing i would like to see also is beasley being used more, instead of the 1 back system we tried last season.
