Not Bud Light. Budweiser.

And trust me, a half-case of Bud would get you plenty drunk or your lying.

Old Peculiar has about the same Alc. content as Bud.

Yes indeed. I spotted this in the local supermarkets a month or two ago. I was bouncing like an 8 year old (but bellowing un - 8 year old language). The wife was in tears of laughter. I hadn't had any in years.

That's in the UK:

Quote:
AB InBev is lowering the alcohol content levels from 5 percent down to 4.8 percent. In a report by The Grocer, they say the reduction will only affect sales in the UK. Ab InBev says they are making the change to save millions on production costs, which will allow them to avoid a 7.8 percent price increase that is being imposed by some other beer makers.

"Our decision to bring Stella Artois, Budweiser and Beck's to the UK market at 4.8 percent abv during 2012 is in line with evolving UK category trends," an AB InBev spokeswoman told The Grocer.
Bud makes different Alc content even for different US States.

In Oregon it's 5.2% - California...5.0%

So who was it saying the old 'watered down British beer' line, was a myth again?

I used to play footy with the son of the guy who used to create all of Moorhouses ales. Blond Witch is named after his mum. True story.

Local Tesco (other supermarkets are available) has an entire aisle given over to real beer, many a happy moment has been spent looking at the offerings. Seems honey beer is very big around here, tasty stuff.

So even then, it's still less than Old Peculiar, which was the point being made initially.
