I've seen it time and time again where judges tend to favour the champion in title fights if rounds are pretty close. Just refer to the Burns/Beltran fight earlier this year for a glaring example.

I think the rounds in question were 3, 5, 7, and 8 where you could make an argument for either fighter winning the round. I saw two newspaper columnists awarding a 10/10 draw in round 7. Both fighters did some pretty good work in the above rounds, and despite what you or I may think, there tends to be this concept of a challenger having to clearly win a round to get a decision.

I actually scored the fight 76-75 Groves (which is the same score as two of the judges on the night). Not because I thought that was the actually score (I thought Groves was ahead by more), but I have watched so many boxing matches in my lifetime that I know how to score a fight to reflect the judges' opinions. Froch definately won 7 and 8, but clearly the judges also awarded him 3 and 5 aswell.

Unfortunately this is why boxing continues to be tainted by claims of being corrupt.

you listened to Watt a bit too much, you seem to have missed things from Groves like punch well after the bell, all the head grinding and the punches to the back of the head.

points would of had no effect on the outcome, the ref might of been a tad early but that fight was only going one way.

indeed, sometimes refs cant win but its a shame for Froch that it looks soft when he should of had the chance to finish a great comeback with a ton of credit.

Again, quite capable of reading a fight, thanks.

I may have to post a picture of my licence on here I think!

Not at all, both fighters were warned once. Froch moreso. Groves actually heeded the refs warning, Froch did not.

Rumour (and it is only rumour) has it that the rematch is May 10th, at Stamford Bridge.
