I agree, at least speak to the guy, know we have a decent QB let's give him someone to throw to.

Yeah, no harm in looking at him and taking it from there.

However, as much as I am not in favour of players with character issues (at all) I think Burress is no worse than many, many players around the league.

For me the important distinction is between criminal intent and idiocy. Vick knew he was committing a crime and made a concious decision to do it. he had no need to do what he did and he the proceeded to lie about it. Darrion Scott held a bag over his son's head. Jerremy Stevens has a long and sordid history of bad behaviour, like Pacman (they never learn).

Burress has not been a model citizen but prior to his recent problems he was more in the vein of Brandon Marshall. Also, his gun carrying antics would be commonplace if he played in Texas or Tennessee etc... I think the fame went to his head and he is stupid. However, if he is as scared of being sent down as people say and truely has learned his lesson, he is worth signing by most NFL teams. Not the world's best receiver but certainly capable, and shouldn't be looking for too much money given his legal issues.

I want him to be honest. He is a number1 guy and while i am extremely confident in Hester improving, he would be a huge upgrade. He matured alot in New York and he really isn't that bad of a guy. Of course he is a bit of diva/idiot but how many others are just like him in the NFL?

He is a big target, with good hands who has produced good numbers in the past. Cutler is a far better QB than Manning also.

He would be a good addition.

I don't think we need him though, it would in my mind make our offense one of the most formidable in the NFLs if we added a #1 in Plaxico; but if we don't add him I doubt it'll be the end of the world, I think our recievers are better than people seem to think.

He's got the ability to make a good offence great, and an average one good.
I honestly think that its a no brainer signing him, because as others have pointed out, he's not as much of a trouble maker as say, TO.
Whoever gets him will be signing an extremely productive and effective player, and I hope its us.
