Default Alshon Jeffery

The Bears give up a 5th round pick to move up to 13 so they can pick up WR Alshon Jeffery. He's 6'3 and knows how to go up and get the ball.

Happy with that pick. Jay Cutler must be smiling.

Just get him a LT now!

To play Devil's Advocate with the more balanced offense, easier to understand blocking systems, vastly improved receiving core, more bootlegs and generally more "Cutler friendly" offense maybe the top brass at the Bears think it will all add together to improve the o-line.

Plus Tice might have his eye on someone he thinks he can develop in the later rounds.

We'll know more in round 3.

I like the pick and if Lovie keeps his weight under control Chicago has a very different type of threat to what's already on the roster. We have enough speed merchants so good hands and a physical threat makes for a good pick.

I sparked the debate about whether we should take Jeffrey or Floyd a while back but that was before Floyd's stock rose so dramatically after the Combine. Make no mistake, Jeffrey is a beast who with the right physical conditioning is NFL ready. He is a big bodied receiver who bullies corners and safeties. I take my hat off to Emery on this one - the difference between him and Angelo is that Emery is willing to take legitimate risks to give the Bears a chance to win a ring. The Bears are all about winning now, not in a few years time. Only dilemma now is whether all the receivers on the roster can make the final cuts.

Here's our core of wide receivers at it currently stands.

Brandon Marshall
Alshon Jeffery
Earl Bennett
Johnny Knox
Devin Hester
Dane Sanzenbacher
Eric Weems
Devin Thomas

I'd have to say that if we release anyone it'll be Dane Sanzenbacher or Johnny Knox depending on Knox's health.

Just the type of body that Cutler needs. Good pick.

Jeffrey signed and sealed to a 4 year deal. First one in the bag.
