the NFL and its weird rules, so the peace sign is a 15 yard flag but was shown when the play was live yet doesnt impact that play.

also hearing that its fine to jump into the crowd and use the camera, no fine, get a phone out $40000 but its the same using a prop in a celebration.

Mahomes, Hill and Hunt have a combined 2018 cap figure of $5.2m.

Sam Bradford is $20m.

Hill does that "peace" sign on nearly all his TDs and i find it a knob move. Last nights was a yard in front of the player and 3 yards from an official. Generally any hand signal in the direction of a player when scoring is "taunting". College rules around this are far stricter.

Yep shouldve got a "prop" fine for the camera thing. Just like Elliott going in the Salvo pot the other year some teams/players seem to get let off easy/passed off as "a bit of fun" by the league whilst others get hefty fines.

It's some way off for Mahomes, but if that trio keeps performing as they have its going to cost a FORTUNE to extend them. Hill might be chasing a deal next year, and he has a unique talent. Hunt probably gets a deal the year after too. All the while Mahomes big pay day will be drawing closer (which may test their resolve on Hunt).

I actually thought watching the Rams game, who are the 4 guys on each team that are indispensable in the long term. Settled on Mahomes, Hill, Kelce and Hunt. (The Rams were Goff, Gurley, Donald.... and then settled on Cooks, but not convinced).

Hill can be extended this off-season or keep him for $800k in 2019 then maybe use the tag.Hunt and Mahomes are issues for the 2020 off-season(even though they have the 5th year option on Mahomes if needed to push his deal back a year or two) as they are only in season 2 of there rookie deals.

the taunting penalty was an easy call according the rules as written but like the one on the Vikings guy versus the Bears on Sunday night seems silly when its the same punishment as really vicious un-necessary roughness fouls.

the prop that Thomas used was placed there well before kick-off and the league don't want to see that become the norm again, using the camera was ad-libbed but should still have be a fine but hey its the NFL are we shocked.

The Chiefs have $47m in cap space this season tied up with Justin Houston, Eric Fisher and Eric Berry. They could release all three within another two years with minimal dead money in order to pay Mahomes and Hill. At least Mahomes has the 5th year option, but the Chiefs will want to extend him after 2020.

my issue is with the rules as its beyond dopey and context needs to used.

as i stated in the thread, in the Bengals game there was a blocking scuffle and it ended with one player standing over a down opponent taunting him but there was no flag.

so that a flag can be thrown for something that happens during the live portion of the play and not affect the result of that play is also stupid and shows what a silly flag it is.

i dont see the issue with using a prop, unless its to sell something and hiding it is a needed part of that, its all a bit of fun.
like removing the helmet as part of a celebration, cos the NFL dont want as to recognise there players
