even in the states people often like a couple of teams.

i have my one true team in the Giants but i like the Bengals and Vikings and only really follow them when the games are on.

Yeah I don't get this. Having a soft spot for another team and keeping an eye out, fair enough. But supporting 2 teams is just wrong.

Those naff fliers and ads you get in the mail when you receive tickets and things advertising other services and promotions. You know the ones where you log onto a website to reserve products only to find the products don't exist or the website is not up and running.
Whats that?
Like NFLUK?
Reserve your gear to collect on the day not running?
Really, surely not?
An organisation backed by the NFL messing up?
Ye Gods next you'll be telling me they can't sort out TV contracts or website upgrades.

Maybe in retrospect they do. I don't remember the American team or American golfing fans speaking of their disfavor then, certainly not en masse or anything. My guess being that quiet apologies were given by the American captain and possibly even the American players. It was unsporting to have the caddies and loved ones of the players storm onto the green at once. People get older and maybe the American players of that Ryder Cup team are more apologetic now. Quite possibly it's the European team domination of the Ryder Cup since then, which has given the American members on that 99 team a greater prospective or maybe just the opinions of some people. That of course would have meant a lack of respect existed then or the American members of that 99 team had much arrogance. If either or both of these are true, certainly it would be even more offensive than being very unsporting.

Birthday cards.

Over the last 5 years or so, the quality of cards has gotten steadily worse. We're not far off the stage now where I'd rather not buy one and apologise for it. Seriously, who designs these things? A deranged monkey could do a better job.....
