Collins is out for several weeks, which I dont think will harm that much with Leary in.I think its fair to say Smiths play has gone downhill since Collins came in, when he comes back fully fit and his old bud next door, as you were! Didnt see the Bears game only highlights, didnt Green have 79? not 74

All that debate about trading Leary for a mid to late round draft pick? Well now we'll see the value in keeping him was probably much more.

Leary was solid enough before Collins arrival. I'm not sure Smith has been affected by Collins lining up next to him, not in the sense of his own play anyway. Collins wasn't the best in pass pro, he can pull really well and make blocks in the open field on his terms, but he's all at sea when he's put on his heels.

Leary is a different type of run blocker than Collins, lacks his speed, but at 320lbs he can move people. His pass pro can't be any worse than Collins either.

Can't recall if Green had 79 or 74 but 79 is his number.

So good to Leary back in, i only got to see the the first half against the Bengals but the line was awesome-didnt see the Dunlap strip sack-was it Frees fault?

Witten was lined up at TE on the right side, with Dunlap outside of him, more or less a 9 technique. Witten takes off on his route, which means Free has a good few feet between him and Dunlap. With Dunlap playing wide he perhaps has a better angle to get round Free. Free kicks back and has 1 shot at getting his hands on Dunlap but he doesn't punch him square, Dunlap gets to that outside shoulder and starts to turn the corner, at that point there was only 1 winner.

Dak took a 3 step drop out of the shotgun, he wasn't really aware that Free was losing his battle, or at least not aware of how close the pressure was. To be fair the only options he had were to either take off through the centre of the pocket or make an early dump off to Zeke over the middle. Even then though he'd have trust Zeke was going to anticipate that pass and he was only just starting to turn back to face Dak.

Dunlap was just better than Free on this play.

Free seems to be struggling just lately, doesnt seem to have the legs these days to stay on blocks, especially with speedy ends, trouble is, is Green any better?

Green is on IR now, so we won't get chance to find out (not that they would have started Green over Free this season anyway barring injury).

I think the problem is Free 'suffers' from playing alongside Smith, Frederick and Martin, they are consistently good. If anyone is going to allow pressure, more often than not it will be Free or Leary (or Collins). Teams will move their rushers around to find mismatches, something that not many teams/players can find against Smith/Frederick/Martin. Look at the Raiders, they tend to rush Mack against RT's, the historically 'inferior' tackle.

They'll have a decision to make in the off season, can La'el Collins or Chaz Green be a starting RT?

Missed that one. Must have been some sort of screen play if it was a pass

Tbh I noticed another screen play that got blown up before it had even begun. Not sure what the plan was but the interior line parted like the Red Sea, problem was there wasn't enough time to get the ball out of Dak's hands before he was swallowed up by the pass rush. Dunbar had barely turned around and Dak was on the floor.

Might as well kick the tyres. Leary will leave at the end of the season, Looney is out of contract after 2017, and La'el Collins is an ERFA after 2017 too. Could well be that Frederick, Martin, Collins and Cooper are your inside guys for 2018 and beyond. (or Cooper could flame out again and they keep Looney instead).
