Its a question of $$$. The Cowboys obviously had a figure in mind, but were willing to let him test the market. He's a solid enough rotational player who fits what the Falcons do, he can play inside or out.

Perhaps they are hoping to use that money to bring back Mo Claibourne instead?

Surprised that they've left the secondary so thin, and haven't really brought anyone in. If they had brought in a solid pass rusher at the expense of DB's I'd understand, but they haven't. Nolan Carroll isn't exactly inspiring, nor is Damontre Moore.

This draft is deep at DE and DB, but they only have so many picks to fill those holes. Drafting late in each round doesn't help either.

I think they see Free Agency as a depth filler i.e. outside of the marquee free agents everything else is average. They can wait for the market to settle, pay less, and come away with what they want rather than over paying for those 'average' players.

Mario Williams, Chris Long, Connor Barwin, Devin Taylor, Dwight Feeney are noticeable names still available.

It would be typical of JJ to make a move for Williams (big name), despite his play being underwhelming last season.

Lardarious Webb is available at Safety.

Nickell Robey-Coleman is also available at CB and he is only 25.

Then there is Darrelle Revis, you know JJ likes star players.

Bring Demarcus Ware back I say! (If the price is right)

Marinelli likes to rotate pass rushers anyway. so age shouldn't be a massive issue. He'd be great for the locker room, and if they draft a pass rusher too he'd be a great mentor.

If this is his last year he gets to retire a Cowboy too (as he should).

How about Ware for Romo, that would be an interesting trade to say the least.

Ware is a free agent I think, no need to trade if that's the case.

Ware's retirement has put an end to those dreams.

Hopefully he gets a gold jacket one day.

So Lance Dunbar has moved on to the L.A. Rams. Brandon Carr is now a Raven and Mo Claibourne is a Jet.

Meanwhile Darren McFadden has re-signed on a 1 year deal.

Wow, our secondary is looking wafer thin.

Thought Carr might go but was expecting Mo to stay.

Our offense will have to score 40 pts a game the way out D is looking.
