in any case it would be clearly the best team in France against an also ran in England.

if they get 4th, then he should be in the hunt for the job.

but really a lot could depend on the whole director of football angle.

one of the things in Oles favour is a lack of someone clear to go after in terms of who they could land and they are competing with Real, who would have an easier path to a certain manager.
getting 4th and CL would give the boards something to sell to the sponsors and the fans do seem to be happy to have there united back after LvG/Jose but how his team plays against City/Liverpool may show the size of the gap that has to be closed.

if Chelsea and maybe Real end up moving on there current managers maybe the choice to stick with Ole would become easier rather than chasing managers in demand.

Real are poor at the moment, got to say its good to see Ajax back at their best though.

Real complete the perfect week.

Real really got what they deserved the way they decided to take the Spainish manager before the WC (which was worth it) and Ramos deciding that Ajax would be a game to miss.

Only lost one game in the CL this year on the way to the QF's, the 1st leg to Real. Came through 2 qualifying rounds to get there too.

You've gotta love Ajax. The Academy, the history, the tradition. Probably my favourite European club.

Matthijs de Ligt will no doubt leave in the summer. 19 years old? Crazy, the guys a beast already. The Dutch have got a cracking CB pairing there in VVD and De Ligt.

Looks like pushing the boat out to sign Dusan Tadic is reaping it's rewards too.

Their team will be broken up like the 95/96 vintage. Even their Europa League finalist side of 2017 were picked apart by teams in the bigger leagues

In a perfect world I'd like to see transfer fees between clubs from different countries be banned and instead only trades could lead to players being exchanged. Its complete utopia but would stop success being bought to the extent it is now, and end the monopoly of clubs from 5 nations having any chance of winning any UEFA club competition

TheCL for all its quality isn't one that often surprises - thats why last nights result resonates

sadly that wont happen and FFP can only level the playing field so much.Ajax like Monaco a few years back will be picked apart so maybe they better make this year count.

on Real it shows maybe how lucky they where last year to win the CL with how average they where in La Liga and this year they got found out in the CL while still been well of the pace at home but still losing 4-1 at home must be as low as they have been for a long time and now they are stuck trying to move on big salary's to rebuild but not many teams can afford them and a transfer fee.

Haha, crazy.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team either in PSG.
