Great curtain raiser for the season. Makes me worried for Arsenal though without re-inforcements.

Could be a 3 horse race for the title (United, City and Chelski) and a three horse race for fourth (Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool).

Didnt see the game but i see they are raving about Cleverly! Was he as good as they are making out? Im sure if they can, united will still sign sneijder but they are making it sound like it wouldnt be the end of the world if they didnt because cleverly looks so promising?

I think Wenger will sell then buy, I know we're getting a bit late for transfers now and he's not a wheeler dealer like Harry, but he's got a serious problem in midfield atm, Fabregas about to go and possibly not fully fit, Wilshire injured, Diaby injured, Walcott injured and IIRC Eboue's gone. That only leaves Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky, Ramsey (who I suspect will feature heavily this season) and Song. If Song goes down they're in real problem because they've got no one else who can really do that job.

Emannuel Frimpong is a guy to watch this year, he will back-up Song and will have replaced him by the end of the season imo. Fantastic player with a great engine who is also built like a tank.

I agree with your post about being worried, with the start to the season we have we can't afford any injuries in an area where our two best from last year will probably be gone.

I only saw the 2nd half. He was ok, but Young seemed to fit in well.

Jones is a player who I'm liking more each time I see him play.

Would have been nice to see Aguero for 20 minutes at least.

Jesus Guys, De Gea got caught out slightly but lets not get carried away now. Remember Vidic and Evra debuts against City?

Played some fantastic stuff today, we need to be up to speed right away because our first few months is pretty brutal.

Cleverly didn't look out of place which is probably the biggest compliment I can pay to him. The Sneijder deal looks dead in the water unless he somehow lowers his wage demands, don't see that happening with the Tax situation in England.

De Gea is a good keeper, but long shots are his weak point, he conceeded more goals than anyone from outside the box in la liga last year

Yeah, that was a hilarious stat Redknapp brought out at HT. The face on Neville was priceless. If all goals were like that then there might be something to worry about. Fact is, they were not.

Awesome performance. Pre-season but still great to see, some of our recent passing play has been fantastic.

God, I'd hate for a team playing that football to win the title, a loss for football, eh LeeBlade?

That 2nd goal was perfection. Cleverley and Nani were superb.
