Default Messed up logo

Why on earth did the Miami Dolphins change their classic Dolphin logo. The one they have now does not flow with their helmet, but even more importantly looks quite naff.

Agreed, the throwbacks the team wore this season were superior to our regular uniforms. They bore the original logo which looked great along with the darker colour scheme. They just looked right. Granted the helmet wearing dolphin and the sun has evolved over time, but even the last version looked good:

1966 to 1973

1974 to 1989

1989 to 1996

1997 to 2012

2013 to present

For me, why we ever changed to the existing logo and made our colour scheme lighter is beyond me. I appreciate they wanted to freshen up the team, but our logo and uniforms have got worse and didn't need major changes. Hopefully we change back to our throwback style uniforms and logo in the near future, but I can't see it.

It certainly hasn't helped them win games. This was a classic case of, "If it ain't broke" !

Revamping the franchise? I gather that's why they changed their kit then. I may just be getting the wrong end of the stick here. I loved their classic stuff but hate the new stuff they're now wearing.

Given some of the new uniforms, I was just relieved with what Nike ended up with.

Ok, the logo looks like one for a leisure centre or animal water park, but the jersey and pants are simple and uncluttered. When I look at the Bucs or Browns I'm happy with what we got.

But Miami on MNF in the throwbacks....that looked like the real Dolphins.

Agree with that. When you look at the Browns, Bucs and Jags, the Dolphins did a decent job. You can't go wrong with a clean, uncluttered look because it will stand the test of time. Those Jags/Bucs/Browns uniforms will date very quickly.

I quite like the Dolphins current look if I'm honest. It's not as good as the uniforms from the 70s, 80s and early 90s. But in my opinion it's far superior to the 1997 to 2012 look, with the horrible 'cartoony' Dolphin and the 1980s style 3D numbers.

The 3-D numbers were horrendous.
