Martz Mock Draft

Orange = Player was drafted in this spot.
Purple = Player was drafted to this team, but in a different spot
Blue = Player was drafted within 5 spots.
Green = Player ended up being drafted earlier.
Red = Player ended up being drafted later.
Round 1

1. Correct! Arizona Cardinals - Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
I don’t think he should be the #1 overall pick, but Kliff Kingsbury loves Murray and will go all in to get him. If it isn’t the Cardinals selecting Murray here, Oakland could surprise us and trade up to get him.

2. Correct!San Francisco 49ers - Nick Bosa, Edge, Ohio State
Nick Bosa is not only the best player available, but he also fills a need for the 49ers.

3. Correct! New York Jets - Quinnen Williams, IDL, Alabama
Jets need to add a pass rusher, but Quinnen Williams is the best Defensive Tackle entering the draft for many years so they go with the best player available.

4. 7.Oakland Raiders - Josh Allen, Edge, Kentucky
Oakland are in desperate need for a pass rusher and Allen is an exceptional talent. I can see Oakland picking whoever is the best player available here and that could end up being Quinnen Williams.

5. 42. Correct team!Denver Broncos (From Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
Denver likes Drew Lock and feels that he could sit for a year and learn behind Joe Flacco, packaging their 10th and 41st picks to move up and get him.

6. 15. New York Giants - Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
New York remains in the 6th spot and selects their Quarterback of the future in Dwayne Haskins.

7. 35. To Jacksonville! Jacksonville Jaguars - Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
Establishing the Offensive Line for Nick Foles is more important than finding Offensive weapons, Jawaan Taylor can immediately start in the right tackle position and drastically improve the O-Line.

8. 5. to Tampa! Tampa Bay Buccaneers (From Detroit Lions) - Devin White, LB, LSU
Tampa trade back up to 8th to get the player they were wanting to draft with the 5th pick. Devin White is by far the best Linebacker in this draft.

9. Correct! Buffalo Bills - Ed Oliver, IDL, Houston
Ed Oliver fits into the Bills defense perfectly and is one of the best players available at this point. Andre Dillard was also considered.

10. 46.Detroit Lions ( From Tampa Bay Buccaneers From Denver Broncos) - Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
Cornerbacks are underrated in this draft and Detroit pick up the best press-Cornerback in the draft.

11. Correct! Cincinnati Bengals - Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama
Williams is the best player available and he’ll be an upgrade at whatever position on the Offensive Line that the Bengals decide to play him in.

12. 8. Green Bay Packers - T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
Tight Ends are not often drafted this highly, but Hockenson projects to be the elite player that Aaron Rodgers deserves.

13. 22.Houston Texans (From Miami Dolphins) - Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State
Houston are in desperate need to improve their Offensive line, Dillard is the best player available and it is worth them packaging a deal with the Dolphins.

14. 16. Atlanta Falcons - Brian Burns, Edge, Florida State
Atlanta need to move on from their previous attempts to find a pass rusher and grab the best one available here in Burns. Also considered was Cody Ford and Christian Wilkins

15. 64. Washington Redskins - D.K. Metcalf, WR, Mississippi
I don’t think Metcalf will be the monster Wide Receiver that everyone is expecting him to be, but I think he’ll still be the first Wide Receiver to be picked. Cody Ford was again considered.

16. 33. Carolina Panthers - Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
Murphy is the best player available here and fills a need for Carolina.

17. 10. New York Giants - Devin Bush Jr., LB, Michigan
The linebacker class is lacking in top end talent this season, Bush offers the most value at this pick.

18. 38. Minnesota Vikings - Cody Ford, OT, Oklahoma
Minnesota, like Houston, desperately need to improve their Offensive Line, they’ll be very happy if they draft Ford here and don’t need to trade up.

19. 13. Tennessee Titans - Christian Wilkins, IDL, Clemson
Tennessee need to improve their front seven and Wilkins is the best player available.

20. 30. Pittsburgh Steelers - DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
Baker fits perfectly into the Pittsburgh Defensive Backs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pittsburgh makes a move up for Devin Bush Jr.

21. 4. Seattle Seahawks - Clelin Ferrell, Edge, Clemson
After trading Frank Clark, Seattle really needs a new pass rusher, I stick to my board and pick the best pass rusher available.

22. 25. To Baltimore Baltimore Ravens - Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma
Baltimore has committed to Lamar Jackson and the running game, now what they could really use is a speed freak like Hollywood Brown to take the top off defenses.

23. 6. Miami Dolphins (From Houston Texans) - Daniel Jones, QB, Duke
I’m not convinced that Miami will go for a Quarterback this year, but they’ve taken a look at Daniel Jones and I’m expecting him to be drafted around this spot, this trade with the Texans is making too much sense here.

24. 12. Oakland Raiders - Rashan Gary, Edge, Michigan
I’m not a big fan of Rashan Gary, but I think Oakland are. He’s been mocked to them at 4 and perhaps with the new injury concern, drafting him at 24 is more realistic.

25. 26. Philadelphia Eagles - Montez Sweat, Edge, Mississippi State
I’m not as high on Sweat as others, but I can’t see him falling out of the first round, Philadelphia once had the strongest front 7 in the NFL and they need to invest again into it. I considered Jerry Tillery here.

26. 28. To Los Angeles ChargersLos Angeles Chargers (From Indianapolis) - Jerry Tillery, IDL, Notre Dame
I did have Indianapolis drafting Tillery here, but I then struggled to pick for the Chargers, if the draft plays out this way the Chargers will probably see this and trade up to get their man.

27. 41. Los Angeles Rams (From Oakland Raiders) - Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State
Risner is the best player on my board, so I looked at who could trade up for him and the Rams were the best fit. The Raiders pick up a third round pick which is something they didn’t start with.

28. 32. Indianapolis Colts (From Los Angeles Chargers) - N’Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State
I rate N’Keal Harry highly and really like this pick. Indianapolis needs a receiver outside of T.Y. Hilton and Harry will be the reliable possession receiver that Indianapolis lacked last season.

29. 105. Seattle Seahawks - Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida
Seattle also have an obvious need at safety with Earl Thomas departing, Gardner-Johnson is my favourite Safety (closely followed by Nasir Adderley and Taylor Rapp)

30. 60. Green Bay Packers - Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware
Green Bay also have a need at Safety and Adderley should be drafted around this spot.

31. 83. Oakland Raiders (From Los Angeles Rams) - Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State
This may be slightly high, but Layne is my number 4 Cornerback in this draft and he could end up being a steal.

32. 20. New England Patriots - Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
Gronkowski’s gone and New England have a chance to draft a big receiving Tight End.

Round 2

33. 18. Arizona Cardinals - Garrett Bradbury, IOL, North Carolina State
Arizona start to build around their new Quarterback with Bradbury, who is also the best player available. Bradbury may not be available at this point.

34. 19. Indianapolis Colts - Jeffrey Simmons, IDL, Mississippi State
Simmons is a round 1 talent, but he comes with injury concerns.

35. 24. To Oakland Oakland Raiders - Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama
Jacobs is the best Running Back in this draft and reminds me slightly of Le’Veon Bell, I could see Philadelphia or Oakland drafting him in the first, but I think it is more likely that he falls to the second round.

36. 51. San Francisco 49ers - A.J. Brown, WR, Mississippi
Brown is the best player available here and San Francisco are in dire need of a Wide Receiver just like him.

37. Correct! To CarolinaNew York Giants - Greg Little, OT, Mississippi State
Similar to Arizona’s strategy, the Giants also start to build around their new Quarterback.

38. 50. Jacksonville Jaguars - Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama
Nick Foles is at his best when he’s passing to a top Tight End and Irv Smith Jr is just the kind of Tight End he would like.

39. 61. Cleveland Browns (From Tampa Bay) - Taylor Rapp, S, Washington
Cleveland trade up to get the best player available, while Tampa Bay are happy to accumulate extra picks.

40. 77. Buffalo Bills - Chase Winovich, Edge, Michigan
Buffalo were another team who once had a formidable front 7, Winovich is a great against the run and is the best player available.

41. 14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (From Denver) - Chris Lindstrom, IOL, Boston College
Lindstrom is the best offensive player available.

42. 36. Cincinnati Bengals - Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina
Cincinnati needs to find a receiver to compliment A.J. Green.

43. 62. Detroit Lions - Andy Isabella, WR, Massachusetts
Detroit never replaced Golden Tate and he was sorely missed, Isabella is another reliable receiver who is extremely quick.

44. 59. Green Bay Packers - Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State
The run of Wide Receivers continues, Green Bay found some good receivers last year, but none of them were stars.

45. 34. Atlanta Falcons - Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple
Oruwariye may be a slightly better Cornerback, but I think Rock Ya-Sin will be a better fit here.

46. 21. Washington Redskins - Darnell Savage, S, Maryland
Washington select the best player available.

47. 48. Carolina Panthers - Erik McCoy, IOL, Texas A&M
Cam Newton needs better protection, McCoy is not only in a position of need, but he is also the best player available.

48. 17. Miami Dolphins - Dexter Lawrence, IDL, Clemson
Best player available.

49. 146. Kansas City Chiefs (From Tampa Bay From Cleveland) - Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
Kansas are in a Superbowl Window and are the team in need of a Cornerback the most, they’ll need to trade up to get what they need.

50. 44. Minnesota Vikings - Elgton Jenkins, IOL, Mississippi State
Minnesota go back to back on Offensive Linemen.

51. 57. Tennessee Titans - J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, WR, Stanford
Hakeem Butler is the better player, but Arcega-Whiteside may be the better fit for Tennessee.

52. 103. Pittsburgh Steelers - Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State
Butler is the best player available and Pittsburgh need to find their next superstar Wide Receiver.

53. 79. Philadelphia Eagles - David Long, CB, Michigan
Philadelphia hasn’t had a shutdown Cornerback for a while, Long is probably the last one in this draft that has the potential to be one.

54. 85. Miami Dolphins (From Houston) - Jaylon Ferguson, Edge, LA Tech
A pass rusher that would fill a need.

55. 31. Houston Texans - Kaleb McGary, OT, Washington
Houston’s Offensive Line is so poor that they go back to back on Offensive Linemen here.

56. 100. New England Patriots - Will Grier, QB, West Virginia
I rate Will Grier higher than most and think he is the kind of Quarterback that New England would be interested in, this will be the year that they start trying to find their future Quarterback.

57. 63. Philadelphia Eagles - Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia
Best player available.

58. 27. Dallas Cowboys - Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State
The best player available is also a position of need for Dallas.

59. 39. Indianapolis Colts - Sean Bunting, CB, Central Michigan
Indianapolis fill their all three of their biggest needs with their third pick in this draft.

60. 45. Los Angeles Chargers - Joejuan Williams, CB, Vanderbilt
Chargers select the best available player from a position that could be upgraded.

61. 54. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (From Kansas City ) - Lonnie Johnson Jr., CB, Kentucky
The Cornerbacks run continues with a Cornerback that could fit into the way the Buccaneers play.

62. 75. New Orleans Saints - Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M
New Orleans finally gets to pick and they try to find Drew Brees a new weapon.

63. Undrafted Kansas City Chiefs - Emanuel Hall, WR, Missouri
Kansas needs to add another receiver and Hall has the potential to be what Hill was.

64. 65. New England Patriots - Zach Allen, Edge, Boston College
Best player available, fills a need and from a local college.

Round 3

65. 71. Arizona Cardinals - Dre’Mont Jones, IDL, Ohio State

66. 155. Pittsburgh Steelers - Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama

67. 139. San Francisco 49ers - Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama

68. 29. Detroit Lions (From New York Jets) - L.J. Collier, Edge, TCU

69. 116. Jacksonville Jaguars - Amani Hooker, S, Iowa

71. 84. Denver Broncos - Khalen Saunders, IDL, Western Illinois

The best running back in the draft at 152. Someone is going to get the bargain of the draft when they select Gaskin.

Interesting that you think that, I actually probably researched the Running Backs more than any other position as I started with them and then realised I was watching way too much tape and wouldn't have time to get to the other positions.

I have edited the second post with my round 1 mock, it was really fun, but difficult to work out all of those trades.

I'd love to hear everyones thoughts!

Agree with most of that tbh, only thing I’m not sure on is Sweat and Gary dropping that far.
