Mark Webber to leave F1 at the end of the season to join the Porsche sports car programme.

Sad to see him go, good driver and comes across as a genuine guy. Would love to have seen him win a world title, but ultimately couldn't compete with Vettel's incredible consistency and clear no.1 status in the team.

Apparently Raikkonen is favourite for his seat. Would like to see that, Kimi wouldn't give a damn about team orders and him against Vettel would be an interesting combination, although I'd still back Vettel to win out over the length of a season. I'm sure he'd have a word with the team if Kimi turned out to be too quick!

Vettel and Kimi get on pretty well by most accounts, so I doubt they would mind each other as teammates. I'd love it, Kimi is my favourite sportsmen of the last 20 years and I've always been a fan of Vettel and the fact that he is to be able to **** people off by winning is a plus, he's also given me hours of entertainment reading the BBC comments and and the anti Vettel crowd that has appeared. I do love me the hypocrisy that surrounds them.

Not much of a Kimi fan here - he doesn't seem to make many 'pure' overtakes and it's hard to judge his level as he's never really been teamed up with a quality driver in their prime (although I forget who he was alongside when he started at Mclaren).

A pity for Kimi though that Pirelli appear to have been pressurised into changing the tyres to make them more durable. Fine to do that at the start of the season and give folk warning of the changes so they can adapt their cars accordingly, but now it's really changing races from affairs where 4 teams can compete for the win, to races where only 1 or 2 teams have a chance. If this continues for even a couple of more races Ferrari and Renault have nil chance of drivers or constructors titles.

It seems more like third rate track maintenance is responsible rather than a specific issue with the tyres (which seemed pretty durable again this race with two stops in warm weather on a track with higher than average tyre wear).

It's like Silverstone (great circuit) tries to repeatedly shoot itself in the foot with basic errors in an attempt to get dropped from the calendar.

Just heard on the radio that the race result might change as the winner is under investigation for failing to slow down under waved yellows.

Jings, that'll cap off that farce perfectly. If true I feel sorry for Webber being denied a celebration.
