There were rumours today, that Gonzo might comeback. If he does, I think that decides whether we have a real SB chance or not TBH. He is a huge part of the Offense, like Welker in New England, we need this guy.

Agreed. I also think we still need to look at drafting a TE in the 3rd/4th.

Still thinking that we'll trade back, given an offer.

Yeah many of our fans seem to think we'll trade back. Id be open to it we got another 2nd and 4th or something like that. Tight End and Running Back need to be addressed in the mid rounds. Lattinore may be worth a look at.

I'd say if we can trade back to the late 30s, flip to an early 4th and gain a 3rd then we're rolling.

If we're looking Mid round for a TE then a name I've been hearing a bit is Gavin Escobar from San Diego State.

There were rumours we were interested in Shonn Greene, seriously hope it is not true. Don't rate him at all.

Agreed - if Steven Jackson parts company with the Rams I'd bring him in on a one to two year deal dependent on how much he wants.

Adam Schefter on twitter just tweeted this.
"Major moves in ATL: Falcons are releasing CB Dunta Robinson, RB Michael Turner and DE John Abraham today."

Shocked that we are releasing Abe, why? Madness.

I am surprised at Robinson and Abraham being released but Turner has been expected since last season. I can only assume that Grimes is expected to resign and we are going to be drafting a top DE. Still hope S. Jackson signs to replace Turner as our number one back.

P.S. our salary cap has significantly improved as well. $15.9m a season if the rumours were correct.

Some reports from the official message board from fans in relation to the reasoning for the moves:

Defence switched to a 3-4.

Matt Ryan expecting a monster contract.

Estimated between $20-$25 million under cap limit.

Although Jackson is a great back I am not sure why we should sign him with both Quizz and Snelling in the team. Quizz showed last year he can become a number one back and Snelling is good enogh to support him.

Switch in defence makes sense with Atlanta looking at Line Backers in the draft but there is also a deep talent pool (by this years standard) of DE's.
