Default transport in Denver

Hi, can anybody tell me the best and safest way to get from Denver airport to the city centre please? Been looking at booking a package deal but it does not include transfer to and from airport.
I am also wondering if i could book it cheaper doing it myself.
Cheers

They do have buses that go downtown from the airport as well as a skytrain service. However just picking up a cab outside the terminal is about $20 and quick and easy. Don't forget to take a picture of the big Bronco outside the airport!

I was there a few weeks ago and just grabbed one of the taxis waiting at the airport.

Also, yeah you can probably book it a lot cheaper booking it yourself rather than a package deal.

It costs 11 (US) dollars to travel one way by bus to 16th street from Denver airport. Most hotels in Denver are somewhere off the 16th street mall, which has a free bus that runs up and down it all day.

Please note that the Broncos, Avs and Nuggets all play within walking distance of the 16th street mall.

And the Rockies - though that isn't really relevant in Dec.

Also not relevant - but for future reference. Denver light rail are currently building a track to extend out to DIA (Denver Int Airport).

If you are staying downtown then ride that free 16th Str Mall bus up and down a couple of times. It helps you get your bearings and to see what is there.

The Avs are really not that relevant this December either!

Can thoroughly recommend the tour of the US Mint in Denver, and obviously the stadium tour which includes the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. The museums in Denver are excellent too. We also did a tour into the Rocky Mountain foothills, and the Red Rocks tour. Would love to see a band playing there. Great restaurants and bars, and a compact city for walking - most of the major sports stadiums are walkable from the centre. The free 16th street bus takes you up and down the main drag though, and then you can catch a light rail train out to Mile High. There's a good theme park too - between the city and the stadium.

We'll definitely go back, great place for a holiday.... Just watch out for the huge blue bear hanging around outside the convention centre. Heh, heh.
