Folk who post then are quoted on it and go off on one saying that is not what they meant. Step for a hint try posting what you actually mean. That grinds my gears.

Clarify what you mean.

I probably wouldn't get past the application form phase lol.
You'd slowly wear down the other contestants until one day you just wouldn't appear, and your head would be in the final box.

Noel would give you a round of applause for playing the game your way and then remind us to tune in for tomorrow's celebrity edition with Chris Martin.

'Hall of very good' irks me. There isn't a Hall of very good, you mean he was a very good player.

To be fair though, there are occasions when you post what you mean in nice clear English. Only for somebody to read it incorrectly and accuse you of saying something different.

Am I making myself clear?

I know what you are saying but on occasions having read the post and then the thats not what I meant speech, it is clearvthat the actual post is ambiguous and can be taken in many ways. As you said nice clear english and meaning what you actualmpost would reduce some of this.

But it's quite a handy way of distinguishing the Hall-of-Famers from the (merely) very good ones.

Brett Favre and (say) Donovan McNabb were very good players, but only one is is going to Canton.

Woah! I only said the concept of International Women's Day grinds my gears.

Another point I have missed out is - strippers - bear with me on this! Women go to see men taking their clothes off to have a laugh and get drunk. Men who go to see women take their clothes off are all pervs and should be strung up from the nearest lamp post. How many 'ladies nights' do you see advertised in your local rag?

I know men allow themselves to be 'dumbed down' with the whole end of the pier, lad's mag, man cave attitude, but who portrays women as strong, independent people and men as drooling, brain dead idiots? The media has a lot to answer for, but it is allowed to happen. When did it all of a sudden become right? Back to my original point, it's this forced sexism that winds me up.

Glad to see I have provoked some debate, apologies if I have caused some friction
