Jeremy Lane failed his physical with Houston and is now back with Seattle...

Browns would have sent a 2018 2nd round pick and a 2018 3rd round pick to the Bengals for McCarron.

They have the Texans and Eagles 2nd round picks in 2018 to go along with their own I think, so in effect it could have been a late 2nd rounder (Eagles) and their own 3rd, but it's still smacks at Hue Jackson hitting the panic button.

Texans get Seattle's 2018 3rd round pick instead and send them a 2018 5th rd pick in return.

Might actually be a better deal for the Texans (getting the 3rd instead of Lane).

Bill Simmons confirms he has no idea what is going on anymore, as he calls this Pats offence the worst in the Tom Brady era.

Yes that is the #1 ranked offence in DVOA (and top 5 in pretty much all metrics).

It's sad to see what Simmons has become. The Ringer is a shadow of what Grantland was

Really wish that trade had gone through, would have snapped that trade right up! Would have helped us look at drafting a pretty good C and generally fixing that O-Line up in the next draft.

McCarron isn't anything special, he wasn't suddenly going to make the Browns winners.

Only the Browns could mess that potential trade up though..

The Browns were actually winners by screwing it up. A 2nd and 3rd for McCarron? Was this Hue Jackson's idea?

Here's the enquirers version of the timeline of when and why the deal fell apart.
(Many thanks to Bengals UK on Facebook for this link)

How desperate?? Jackson is a dead man walking. The time he's been afforded and recognition of the job at hand in terms of turning the Browns around has been lost. He's been in self preservation mode for a while now and this proposed deal screams of it.

Beyond the obvious reasons lol, people in Cleveland need firing for not even being able to file paperwork in time for a trade. Truly embarrassing stuff.

Moral must be low in the Panthers. Not a move that says our guys could lift the trophy this year.
