I don't know what's going on with Brohm, but he really must not be impressing the coaches if Matt Flynn's higher on the depth chart than he is.

come on Da Bears always wast they 1st round pick it seems:

2008 14 th Chris Williams OT (did do any thing, due to injury)
2007 31st Greg Olsen TE (turning into a star TE IMO)
2006 TRADE to BILLS for 2nd & 3rd round
2005 4th Cedric Ben$on RB (nuff said)
2004 14th Tommie Harris DT (still in my mind one of the best in the league)
2003a 14th Michael Haynes DE ( cut 2006,Saints cut him and Jets cut him..now not in NFL)
2003b 22nd Rex Grossman QB (still like the guy,but injury's and up and down play cost him)
2002 29th Marc Colombo OT (was always injured, trade to Dallas where he has found a home)
2001 8th David Terrell WR (the big headed WR who thought he was TO...)
2000 9th Brian Urlacher (great 1st round pick, had an outstanding rookie year)

I know some of you wasnt even into FOOTBALL when we picked some of those, but we also have had these bust's picked in the 1st:
QB Cade McNown
RB Curtis Enis
got QB Rick Mirer with a trade to Seahawks, what a star he turned out to be...NOT
RB Rashaan Salaam

It's a bit early on Chris Williams, from what I saw of him last season (which was very limited); he actually looked quite good.

Maybe we should just trade out of the 1st every single year? We seem to have better luck in the later rounds, anyway.

I personally think going WR in the 1st would be riskier than DE, but that's just me.

I guess the absolutely failure of some of the DEs that came out last year and went early could put him off.

I hear what your saying...but IMO JA will go later for Defense...look at last years draft and how he was pushed by fans and media to go OL in the 1st..Williams was going to be the starter and look how that turned out,in the end we didnt really need him.So IMO JA is going to be pushed into getting an Offense player WR or even QB with the 1st over all. Then he can go after the players he really wants in the later rounds.

If he goes QB in the first round, I'm going to be furious.

There will be no QB worth a 1st rounder left on the board by the time we draft.
