I felt the same about Weekend Update when they announced Seth Meyers was leaving SNL. His show and the new WU host are both great.

maybe but Colbert Report and the tonight show are fairly different, it might be good but its probably harder/impossible to replace that show.

Completely agree with both points.

Really surprised by this news though. Viewers haven't really seen much of Colbert out of character, or interviewing people. It's quite a left-field choice.

But good luck to him. I'm sure they've done their due diligence, if those episodes of Louis are anything to go by.

he kept Jerry out of the seat

maybe Letterman will pull the same trick IRL
(before the end of the Report and hopefully nothing like Leno's trick.)

True Detective spoilers below

Entertaining enough on first take, and I'm just going to skip over Rust's 'revelations'.

But thinking about it, this guy has been part of a group of people murdering people for so long he's almost become an urban legend. But all we end up seeing is just some messed up guy. What about the conspiracy? The other people in the video? Was the senator covering up for his messed up relatives? The news report we hear hardly scratches the surface, and that is a shame.

Again Spoilers below..........

Could of done with an extra episode with the fallout of the whole thing I suppose. Still one of the better single seasons of a show imo.

My slight gripe would be that we essentially had a build up of 7.5 episodes, only for the baddie to be found and end up dead in a matter of 20 minutes.

I've actually made it worse by reading reviews of the last episode, as I'd forgotten about a lot of stuff , big one being Hart's daughter creating a scene with dolls that mimics the murder -.

And also us seeing Maggie's father, which I'd forgotten about, too.

There's a line from this article which sums it up for me -
Quote:
There’s an entire act missing between Carcosa and the chat under the stars, one in which Cohle and Hart push their larger theory but are shut down by the Powers That Be.
Also!!!! -
