Default SKY NFL guests (AKA Johnny Mitchell thread)

Geez, I liked the guy as a player but as a tv pundit not so good (sorry Johnny). He really didn,t have anything interesting to say and Nick carried him most of the night. What does anyone else think?

I thought we was bloody useless last night and Thur night.

Sky coverage looked cheap and amateurish!

FIVE was much better.

He looked like he was watching the tennis & what was with his shirt & tie?

Other than that I thought he was ok - let's face it we're never going to get a Steve Mariucci, Mike Ditka or a Jimmy Johnson.

Johnny was always supremely physically talented as a player, but reputed to be dumb as a box of rocks. While he was sligthly better than I thought he would be as a pundit, I don't think he offered any real insight. The only time he got excited was when they talked about money and contracts - for Johnny, it was all about the benjamins.

I find it amazing that sky seemingly have the ability, to keep finding studio guests that either can't string a sentence together and/or are not very good, Johnnie Mitchell, Ian Allen, Huggy Bear, Cecil Martin or are the most boring person on the face of the earth - Neil Reynolds.

The only one who I really like is Jeff Reinebold.
Shaun Gayle is half decent but obviously these guys have bigger fish to fry in the US so we're not going to have them here every week.

Whilst I'm not saying I'd do any better as I'm sure I wouldn't, surely it can't be difficult to get a decent analyst, presenter and guest?

Maybe Carlson will move to sky after this year... we can but hope.

Oh, harsh on Neil Reynolds I think he's okay as an analyst and I like Ian Allen too and his love of the Cardinals which he was ribbed for yet they made the Super Bowl.

Anyway as for Johnnie Mitchell he used to play for the Jets and has a cool name. But maybe he's not cutout to be an analyst but who knows how difficult it is, live tv isn't easy.

I was quite pleased when I saw Johnnie Mitchell on Sky on Thursday night, because I remember quite liking him as a player back in the day... but he was a player that I had totally forgotten about, so it was nice to have a little blast from the past!

But having said that, he's a nice guy, but I didn't think he was too hot as an football pundit. Hopefully he'll improve if Sky continue to use him.

Really didn't think to much of him & by what he said yesterday i guess he'll be back next week. I seem to remember him saying he's most looking forward to not getting stuck in traffic on the way in next week. In a related note that was probably his most interesting comment all night.
