Default 2011 Draft Game

Just a little game during the offseason to see who can guess correctly our 1st round draft pick.
You get 2 picks - 1 pre combine and 1 post combine. 2 points for guessing the player correctly pre combine and 1 for guessing post combine. 1/2 points if you get the position correct.

Winner gets the gameball until training camp.

Pre Combine:

CheshireMulisha - Phil Taylor - NT Baylor
Pittsburgh Dreamer - JIMMY SMITH - CB COLORADO
Paul Birkitt - Gabe Carimi - OT Wisconsin
Terrible Towel - Muhammad Wilkerson - DT Temple University
Steeler39 - JJ Watt - DE Wisconsin

CORNERBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee you guys are more into the college stuff than me!
When exactly is the combine?

How about some more points for predicting the POSITION for our 2nd & 3rd picks? Notice I didn't say Rounds 2 & 3 cos we're gonna trade up to get our guy in the 1st Round aren't we?!!!

Its about then - you've got 2 weeks anyway.

Nothing really in the rules about selecting the same player (its only fun)
If we have the same picks pre and post combine then we could select the 2nd round player post combine for a tiebreaker.

The combine is where the top 300 or so draft prospects all work out for a week. A players draft stock can rise or fall depending upon how he does there and a keen scout can pick up some later round bargains.

Jimmy Smith is a bit of a mover at the moment - he is somebody that could go top 15 if he has a good combine so as for that trading up - who knows... Especially as we dont normally go corner early on. I think we have a better chance of going for Brandon Harris (smaller than Smith but a better tackler)

I'll pick someone else, it'll force me to do more research.

I like this game - so many different opinions on the various Mock Drafts.

If he slides to #10 we may just do a mega trade up with the Redskins to allow them to gain much needed extra draft picks.

We then get in front of the Texans who are in dire need of secondary help.

So we then select the CB from Nebraska and introduce:-

The PITTSBURGH PRINCE

Now that would sell a few T shirts!

the 3obvious choices position wise are CB,OL,DL.theyll take BPA.theres a lot of depth apparently at CB this yr so a corner in rd2 will do.i hope they getta OT so they can push colon inside to guard if its a RT or slot him in straight at LT(i no unlikely)and make 1 of last yrs weakness a strength my choice is gabe carimi from wisconsin the guy won the award for top college lineman this yr i think

When push comes to shove, I see it being between a Corner and a D Lineman.

Mike likes a Junior, so that gets rid of a few.

We might go corner, but we have unknown ability in Butler and Lewis, Butler played well in pre-season and could make the jump to start opposite Ike, making Corner less important.

I'm going for DE, the ideal NT Taylor will be gone I think, so we look to get younger, and more athletic at End, Smith could be finished if this injury jinx continues.

So . . . pre combine

Pick 31

DT Muhammad Wilkerson - Temple University
