I'm thinking of heading over next year for the Denver Broncos home game.

I'm just after a bit of advice really!

How much did it cost everyone for Hotels, flights etc?

What's the best areas to stay?

Things to do in Indianapolis on non football day?

Just a bit of general help really!

Unfortunately not been to a game yet, but that sounds like a good game to go to

Well, I flew from Edinburgh to Indy via Newark for under £650 and stayed three nights at the mariott Courtyard for less than a further £300 incl. breakfast. I deliberately overpaid for my tickets to get guaranteed seat and Colts sideline - but you can pick up pretty easily - I used the official ticket exchange but you could use Stubhub.

Plenty to do. Loads of museums (incl. NCAA Hall of Champions - CLOSED MONDAY) and there is a phenomenal downtown Mall of Military monuments. Also could do stadium tour if you are there on a Tues or Wed, Indy 500 motor speedway. Check out visitindy.com for advice.

I caught a NBA preseason game - there is also little league BB and a few other sports.

Definitely going back - just need to convince my wife....

Think it was about 650 incl 4 nights hotel, flew out of Newcastle at 5pm had to stay overnight in Amsterdam ( what a pain ;-) ). Then to detroit then Indy, sounds a carry on but worth it to save £.

What's the best areas to stay?

Have to say the Crowne Plaza impossible to stay any closer to the stadium, its a hotel that is still half railway station half hotel, never seen a hotel like it before.

Things to do in Indianapolis on non football day?

Think TJ covered the lot, and I have mentioned a few things in a few posts back up. If you like your beer you have to do the Indy Brew Bus. Fire Memorial was good- didn't have time to see inside the museum. The Chatham Tap opens at 8.30am to catch live Prem football if your team is on.

Just a bit of general help really!

Indy will have to be the next trip, but I am heading over to Orlando next Wednesday to see the Jax TNF game, then going to see the Gators v Louisiana on the Saturday followed by Chargers @ the Bucs on the Sunday, heading back on the Monday evening. Cost just under £500 return flights and £100 hotel for 5 nights. Can't wait!

Cumbria Colt - good user name! I very nearly chose that for myself when I joined a couple of years ago (went for 'English Colt' instead - obviously I've now changed that too).

Where are you from? I'm now exiled to Kent, but grew up near Penrith.

I live in Whitehaven, so not a million miles from there!
